I am posting for rusty bill. This is Bills' third hand device for holding small items that need to be held for welding.

The simple framework has threaded holes around the perimeter for the hold down screws to be placed where needed. It is made from 1 1/4 x 3/16 steel strap. Holes are 1/4 x 20 and 5 16' bolts at the corners.

Place your items where they fit good.

The fixture holds your parts in alignment and nobody gets burned.

The fixture can be clamped in a vise. The fixture can be used for a wide variety of parts and while I am looking at it I would say it would be a good fixture to hold wires while soldering.

Thanks for sharing. That I could have used countless times in the past few months and I think I already have the pieces to make one.

So simple , so handy and yet I've never seen or thought of that. Of course if I found one someone had made I would have torn it up to make something useless:D

  15. Good one. I'm gonna steal that idea.

Thanks guys for the positive comments! I can't take any credit for this device. rusty bill (his HAMB handle) stops by my shop occasionally and he always seems to have some simple but ingenious and practical tool that he has made from someone else s scrap parts our tools. Perhaps he will share more of them with the HAMB membership in the future.

  20. good idea, on my list of things to make.
