  3. Looks like '28 Studebaker (either Commander or Dictator), but the crank hole doesn't match- did you graft that in something else, or is the crank hole the original?

Crankhole is original.....I cut either side of it so I could keep it. I found a couple that looked right but the crank hole didn't match I searched a lot of late twenties cars. It was chrome, so I doubt it was truck.

  7. Very Interesting. I put a magneson blower on Dodge colt once in the 70s but it is a roots type. Long before magneson was into automotive blowers. Have pic but a colt isn't hamb friendly. Always wanted to try mounting a centrifugal style blower on the front of one of my slant six motors with the fan proper bolted to the crank pulley/vib damper. I figured I might have to make the whole thing. This deal even though the blower is not crank mounted has rekindled that flame. I will be watching to see how this turns out.

As it happens I have a couple of those supercharger heads that were cut from the angle drive, which got used for something else. Of little or no value to me. I also have a pretty large turbocharger from a GM 8:92 diesel. At one time i was thinking of a belt driven blower. I looked at an Air Cycle machine from a B-52 at a swap meet. $25 fresh from O'haul with the manual. Should have bought it. If you re interested in a compressor I mentioned email me back.

Rick's can you see it now? The idea was to hide the spring to make the rear look like it's just floating out there.

    I'm really digging this Clark.
Is there a chance you could post a couple more picks of the rear suspension?

Clark, This is a great build. Thanks for telling me about it.
Even though I have logged thousands of hours on 8Ns & 9Ns I have never had one of those engines totally apart. Do they have oil pressure to the rods? You might get water for the SC by tapping the water pump or the housing near the top hose and return it to the drain hole on the block. What frame did you start with and what is the front axle? A '49-'53 Merc trans with the BW OD should bolt right on.

Graham..here's the rear pics. I added a gusset to the rear bones. I know everybody says you can't split the rear bones......I've done several cars with the later short bones and had no problems. One car we beat hard too.

The axle bells are just flipped side to side to put the springs infront of the axle.

I do need to add a lead or two to get some clearance

I'm gonna start out without the water to the supercharger.

The frame is an Essex. The front axle is a most double dip. Not sure of the year.

Here's the steering box mount. The box is a 42/47 Chevy truck

This thing is looking soooo good and moving quickly. Did you make the steering box mount or is it stock from the 42/47 Chevy truck?

I made it...lots of welding and grinding. Wanted it to look like a cast part.
