Studebaker truck aluminum ID tag... totally corroded

    what info would have been on it ???

    while working on getting the brake drums off my 46 M-5 last night, I saw a totally corroded aluminum tag rivited on the frame inside the drivers side wheel well... mine is totally unreadable... anyone know what info would have been on the tag ???

    That'd be cool to find out what it was? My M didn't have one and haven't seen any on five or six others I've been around?

    on my trucks age range, appearently it was a serial number tag, which is also duplicated on the body... mine in the drivers door frame, & appearently after
    October of 46 the body tag was moved to the seat riser... so mine is a pre October 46 truck... even though mine won't be anywhere close to stock, I'll probably get an aluminum tag & get it stamped with the serial off the other tag, & put it in the stock frame location... should last longer than the original, since this truck is likely to never see road salt again...
