V-8 60 front axle. NOS Halibrand quickchange. Ross steering. I installed a Vertex magneto to clear the Hilborn injector pump belt. This project is now on the back burner .Don't ask for follow ups. Sorry. PLEASE DO NOT comment on this post, but I will gladly answer questions.
The NOS QC and every component on it [except the wheels] are NOS. What do you think that alone is worth?? It would be very expensive. To sell it I would have to list it on "cars for sale". Some Hambster raised H when I included my phone # with my Parnelli thread. my phone # is included in all my QC for sale ads. Please explain the glasses question. Thank you. Best regards. Dennis
Since I can't comment here I've been trying to communicate telepathically. Please remove tin foil hat.
Here's a bunch of photos of something I'm progressing anymore. Here's a list of expensive hard to get parts. Don't comment. But I will answer questions. I think I got that right. But you didn't answer Larry's question. Is it for sale?
A little dusty for green tie down straps, too many earth tones. Color wheel them to red to match the yellow hues in the trash can in the back, and bring out some pop on the tool box. On another note, your frekn' shop looks fun ... all you need is naked women on the wall, and the post would make plenty of sense to me. More quick change posts please.
Nothing Circa 1950 about the tube frame on the center car. Looks like a current build with bent tubes, hairpins, rod ends, billet aluminum arms, torsion bars.... Cool parts, too bad I can't comment on the project. I know you're a hitter in the vintage race car world, but this is a weird thread!
Badshifter. you are WRONG on everything. Haven't you ever seen the Spalding brothers # 43 track roadster built about 1950. Check out that build thread. You are right about one thing. It is a current build. I never sent it wasn't. Thank you Ryan for your comment.
you know, this guy potentially has a LOT to contribute here... but every single time he posts, which isn't very damned often for obvious reasons, he gets ridden hard...just sayin'
Frames--- Thanks for those great photos, pure eye candy but....... Telling a HAMBER not to comment is akin to handing an ice cream cone to a six year old and saying don't lick it.
now Don, don't get all out of joint. I agree, he doesn't "HAMB speak", but if he gets his ass handed to him every time he posts, he'll never post, and he'll never get the hang of this place. And I have read several posts where he gets roasted alive, not because of content, but because of the way he comes across on the computer. He obviously doesn't have great computer skills, but I don't think that should be a pre-requisite for a traditional hot rod site. Hell, Im the same, a lot of people really don't get that 98% of the time, I have my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. Some guys just aren't that great communicating on line. The guy has MAD skills, and a LOT to offer. All Im saying is, lets cut him a little slack. Considering how many guys we have posting on here that don't know the first f*cking thing about building period cars, race or otherwise, I just think we should cut the guy some slack. And I wasn't singling you out by any means. Manhugs all around?
And considering the grief I have seen him catch on other threads, maybe that's why he said "no comments"? Once bitten twice shy?
So its gotta have early ford rails and split wishbones, or its a modern car?? Well, just ignore the check shirts and the fifties sprint car in the background, 4130 round tube chassis, fabbed tube axle, torsion bars, and fabbed hairpins, clearly this must be a modern car...And JUST LOOK at those "billet" torsion bar arms..So GAUCHE! Man, don't these guys know ANYTHING??!! More 4130 round tube... I'm guessing the OP has probably wandered off by now to work on a vintage sprint car or something but you get my point?
I didn't see any panty drying racks in his pictures ... he'll be alright. Probably likes paying attention to the garage contents anyway. Gets you nice sh#t I think ..... and hopefully a few chuckles waiting when he's done. It's a great day here already. ha ha
I've hung out with Frames a few times at car shows... He's a real ol'time gearhead , and a very talented craftsman... Look him up next Charlotte Autofair, good guy to get to know and bench-race with...A tour of his shop is a real treat...tons of stuff to look at. Here's a pic of a Willys coupe he did in the background.. ( he's in black jacket)....killer Y-block.. and he's bad about using marine intakes with sidedraft carbs just to fool with the "experts"
The Willys was the 1st thread I did on the HAMB. About 3 years ago. I wish I knew how to cut and paste. I would have saved that thread. You would not believe how the Hambers ripped me a new A hole. I just laughed. Goodguys Charlotte over 2,000 cars. Won "Builders Choice". Doug Herbert car show. About 200 cars. Won "Best Drag Car" Mooresville Dragway. About 200 cars. Won "Participants Choice" Check out that Willys axle, 5.75" bullet headlights and the aluminum firewall.
