The AC-powered Frazer Nash "Union Special" of Peter Giddings: http://petergiddings.com/Cars/union_spcl.html
This just in from a Hemmings post... Gary http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...age-to-edsel-fords-1934-speedster/?refer=news
Technically, Edsel's speedster wasn't coachbuilt- Edsel and Bob Gregorie had some of the guys from the Trimotor plant build the body
MARIOD asked for some side shots at a distance. Here we go. It was 12 degrees that day and I was not going to drive it 45 miles and be sick for a week.....I'm getting old.
There are a couple of really interesting Specials for sale at www.fantasyjunction.com. They always have wonderful stuff. One is the Hagemann-Sutton Special. The other is a 1937 Buggati 57/59 Special. If I had better skills I would post some pics. Maybe someone could help me out. Thanks. TEB

A Hudson on the edge of specialdom: Courtesy of The Old Motor, who seem to have become less anal about image linking than I seem to remember them being. Perhaps they have been finally convinced of the futility of that.
Doesn't quite qualify, but: From this page: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...eys-car-pictures-part-2-oddballs-and-weirdos/
I'm in the process of building a Rover Special for a customer. It used to be a Sedan but the body was way beyond repair. I moved the engine about 210 mill further back for better proportions. Now started building the body. First welded up the firewall from 5 mm Aluminum. then made up the structure pieces from 1.5 mm sheet and the skin from 2mm. Have a look yourselves...
Gary - its all stock! It's the original 6 cylinder engine/trans and the original frame. All needs to be reworked though... Surprisingly frame and all mechanical parts are in very good condition.
There seem to be a number of Rover specials coming out of Germany. Are you familiar with the Kranzes, Hubert and Hagen?
