I have a 57 more door in the garage . My great grandson has $300,000 worth of toys here, but he always wants to go play in " Grandpas Big Car" Good buy on that 55, you'll get to love it .

That is a beautiful cat, we have had a couple in the past that looked a lot like yours.
This probably won't sound very "manly' to some of you, but I have always liked cats.
I know this kind of thing should be PM'd but, just felt like sharing.

 

When Larry puts the 4 speed in that ol' 55 the guy in the middle will feel a little (funny) though.

 

Yes, please be careful when shifting that 4 speed.

Wow! big surprise to me thought all 55 chevs had factory electric wipers, never seen one with the sucking death wipers.

 

My '56 has vacuum wipers. Chevrolets could be had with vacuum wipers to '58, Chevy trucks to '60.

 

re Post 102. - I have no driver side window, but no way would our cat do that........................but one evening, parked in town visiting, I got caught out. By the time I got home I realized. Bit damp !

 

My 57 BelAir 2dr ht had vac. wipers.

 

just swopped out an electric wiper from newport for the original vacuum wiper on a '57 truck worked well........need to do something about the knob tho.

Yup, my 58 has vacuum wipers, yet. Going to have to change them.

Says it came with a 283 : stock would be 265, I am betting it had a six cylinder, I think they had vacuum wipers, V-8 were all electric as I recall.. (subject to be corrected, tho) >>>>>>trucks vacuum?

 

Good call...came originally with a 235/6. Owner changed it to a '65 283.

My Nomad came from factory with 265 V-8, vacuum wipers.

I also understand ALL '55 Nomads were automatics, weell maybe I do...

6 cyl. Nomads were common in '56

Electric wipers, 265 V-8, Powerglide, etc were options. Back then cars were made to go someplace.
You can buy a modern cable type electric wiper system cheaper than a used electric motor.
