We enjoy our 57 4 door hardtop. It has alot of room for hauling friends on cruise night, lawn chairs and coolers when going to car shows and a big trunk to haul home stuff from the swap meets if I'm not there in my pickup. The longer roof line balances out the long body lines as well. Plus they are alot cheaper to buy. All it takes is a good color combo, a little lowering, and some cool tires and wheels to get started. I'll start with a photo of our car. Feel free to post your hardtop as well.

Do we need to explain the not so subtle differences between sedans and hardtops for some of you? I don't have a pic on my 56 4dht, but it's just like the one in the Danchuk catalog with the gold 55 Nomad on the cover :)

    Isn't EVERYTHING with 4 doors and a roof a 4dr hardtop??? HAHAHAHAHAHA

I think a h/t 4dr can be just as cool as a 2dr... 'cept a couple extra doors make it a bit more usable.

This is our '62 Impala. Obviously, some of you don't know the difference between a 4dr sedan and a 4dr hardtop. No pillar, no door frames, hardtop. Center pillar, door frame around the glass, sedan. Not to nitpic, but there is a difference...

I usually actually prefer the looks of a 4dr HT over a 2dr Sedan.
But, it's all in the roofline though. Not all 4dr HT cars have a good looking roofline.

    Here's a '57 4dr HT Plymouth Belvedere project-car which I recently bought,

4 door 53 ford customline. Since dropped it 4" in the back and have drop spindles and lowering springs for the front that will take it down 3"+ up front.

Yeah-Chevy screws us up, calling the 4dht a "Sport Sedan". No wonder people are confused.

I would like to suggest you go right ahead. :D
Obviously the term 'hardtop' has lost it's meaning to some I guess... ;)

Not technically a hardtop (yet), she's been on the back burner for a while, sittin' in my garage warm, dry, and freshly straight! Another 40 hours of prep and it's black/candy/'flake time...
