In the process of getting babbit poured for my mains on my B engine after getting the block
    pressure checked.
Have been thinking of going to an A block and getting the crank turned down, then decided to
give the this B block a chance after talking to Putt Smith, He said just put a mechanical gauge
on it and don't let it get hot and it should last.

I believe there are still some lion speed 3 heads in stock at the moment if you want one. Not sure how many are left though.

No, I'm using the 32/36. I do have an A project involving an 1800 cc OHC Ford Courier engine with a pair 42 DCOE Webers. Image 1.jpg

It's a full pressure counterweighted B motor with a big cam and a '27 Chevy head.

  18. hot-irons,

Sounds like a fun build, but don't use that '27 head! The single exhaust heads are prone to cracking- not a matter of if, but when, and they don't flow well at all. Keep your eyes out for a good '28 head- it'll be worth the wait!

Maybe I'm wrong on the year. It has two intake ports on one side and two exhaust on the other. Is that the later style head you are talking about?

Just got my fresh model b distributor for my trog car. Now I can install my lion head and that this weekend. If in just installed the distributor hoe much of a driveability improvement would I see. Also have a dual updraft intake for it but I am waiting on the b carbs to come back from rebuilder.

  22. I think you have the 28 head!:D

If you had a good A distributor set up changing to a stock B dizzy all by its self and no other changes, not much change in the drivability. Compression increase is going to be the biggest change when you get enough fuel to it.

Thats the real deal sir. The fella I got it from used to wrench for Ak Miller.
He made two of these for the El Cabilero Mexico road race because he didn't like the Carter wcfb.
