Stellar work really dig this project #2 or #5

when I look at #2 (the one that wasn't speaking to you) it seems to me to be the one that flows the best with the new door as well as accentuating the long sloping rear deck and fenders you've created.......to me the "lower" profiles make the deck look humped up

 

Looks good without a roof. Maybe I should go topless?

Thanks Kid, Did I say it was good to have you back? I got into the Gene Winfield class coming up in 2 weeks. I guess it couldn't be better timing. I was messing with my English wheel trying to figure it out. I think having a decent handle on that is going to be critical to getting the roof back together. (I've given up on Kenneth coming over from Sweden). These photoshop guys are amazing. It really gives me a boost of motivation.

It's O dark thirty and I'm heading out for the Mojave desert with my deck lid and a sheet of 018 crs to take Gene Winfields class. Should be awesome!!

 

Great day taking Gene Winfield's Class. Learned some good tips. Good group of people. Fancy BBQ spread for lunch. Gene is very accessible. Class ran from 9 am til 8 pm. I suspect tomorrow will be the same.

About half the group met up for dinner in Mojave, destination "the Road House". (Under new mgt). When we got there they had closed down early due to lack of customers. Gene was hot because he had told the gal we were coming a couple days before. Next best restaurant in Mojave.... Denny's.

The Winfield wrecker...

 

Wow. Amazing weekend. Just left from dinner with Gene and Hotrod Jimmy at 930 at night. I shut the place down, all the other students had gone home.

Bluthndr here on HAMB was second to last. He had to head back to LA to catch the red eye back to Michigan to work tomorrow, so he was excused at about 8 pm.



Jimmy and Gene stayed late to help sort out the tops of my door jams and the eyebrow / lip above the door......amazing.....I bought them dinner for their troubles, luckily for me they are cheap dates..

3 hrs to get home then work first thing but it was so worth it......

 

Wow, What a great experience. Help from the best. The story of your build just gets better.

Still trying to digest the Winfield experience....,it's hard to adjust back to reality and my day job. Part of me wants to take up residence in one of his trailers and try to absorb more of his genius. The other part of me knows I need to lock back on to reality and get back to my real life. Sadly I'm going to do what is right,..,, my project will make things right in my world. Taking it to the next level is the next best thing to being a Winfield groupie........

 

Those guys (our forerodders ) are a special group. You can not be a part of that by following them around, but by doing what you did by applying Winfield's teaching to your already well along build may help to extend it.

 

Thanks for following six ball... Maybe I go back some day driving my creation.... In the meantime I'm talking to some guys about trying to put together a Fallbrook metal meet...

 

Trip to the scrap yard to get raw materials for some metal working tools. Craigslist adventure to score a victor Oxygen/ acetylene torch. Putting what I learned to work. I think hammer welds are beautiful....

 

Slight pause in the action. New addition to the family. I figure if "Mickey" keeps momma happy then I can press forward in the mancave....

 

I usually don't comment on other peoples's kids but.................

 

Working on the door jamb and gutter. Using the parts fabbed at the class. Seems that the dang bird has bonded to me so he gets to come to the man cave. He doesn't seem to mind the noise, if he's ignored he can make noises louder than any angle grinder.....
