I have been getting a lot done lately on my hot rod I finished welding the exhaust and making all the gaskets for the flanges.
Once the exhaust was finished I was able to set the body back on and start building the floors and trans hump I used oak ply wood and then added metal accents to tie everything together.
I bought a full hood from a guy here in Amarillo a few months back right before I made a trip to Salt Lake City to pick up a cab I bought at Salt Flats Speed Shop, so while I was there dropped the hood off and had him punch some louvers. I decided to go with five rows, Chris did an awesome job!

I have made lots of progress on my truck but I've been so busy with my day job and working on my hot rod in the evening and on the weekends I haven't had much time to post updates, but at the moment I have a little downtime so here goes. I was able to start the motor for the first time everything sounded good, motor starts easy, revs quick I'm pretty happy with it considering I bought it off Craigslist for 200$
Every since I bought the truck I've been looking for a useable 1932 bed and haven't had any luck finding one so at last years round-up Sid Drapal had a pretty nice 35-36 bed that I thought I could cut down and make it work. I didn't take very detailed pictures of how I chopped down the bed it was all pretty straight forward I started by cutting down the sub structure so the bed would sit lower on the back of the cab.
Then I taped reference lines and carefully made some cuts to get the bed length exactly where I wanted it. this is how much I took out I didn't measure how much exactly but you get the idea. .
I then tacked everything into place good enough to send it off to the sand blasters. once I got it back I fully tig welded the sides and metal finished it best I could, welding 16 gauge was a nice change of pace the metal didn't move nearly as bad as 18 or 20 gauge would. Here's a shot of all the sub structure shortened.
I then set the bed on to see how it looked. To finish off the rear of the bed I'll be building a kustom roll pan and nerf bar, but more on that later.
You might notice I swapped out the 32 headlight for older pair of guide 682-C that Sid had for sale at the round-up this year. In my opinion it completely changes the look of the car! I also change the front spring to drop the car an extra inch.
Sorry to skip around but I'm posting pics kinda as I go. I've had this idea in my head from pretty early on on how I wanted to build my column drop. It's made from two different pieces a upper and a lower, everything bolts together. I started by making a L bracket that bolts the cab to the bulkhead on the firewall I built earlier.
