So even though my truck ran like crap and was really slow I had an awesome time and I can't wait till next year, I was happy to spend time with my mom and dad and to also see some really cool cars and meet some really awesome people! I'll leave you with this really cool picture of me and my dad adjusting the timing before the race. (Photo courtesy of Blake Burwell and Jalopy Journal.) ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1440639599.173121.jpg Big thanks to Ryan And all the crew at Mokan. More updates coming soon.

Sorry Larry, now I feel like an asshole, I promise next time I'm there I'll give you a shout. I might be taking my truck to Starbirds this year.

Yes they are Porters stainless steel glass packs can't really remember what length but I think it's the shortest one they offer.

Sorry guys I haven't been posting more on the progress of my 32, one week after hamb drags I developed a abscessed tooth on a Friday afternoon by Saturday night I was in the ER, since no dentist were open I was in terrible pain just waiting for Monday to come so I could get the tooth pulled. I finally got the tooth pulled and was back working in the shop by Wednesday! I might add a few days before all the trouble with the tooth I called my insurance company (blue cross blue shield) to see why I haven't received my monthly bill, and come to find out they dropped me without any phone call or warning of any kind, not to mention before open enrollment too. So long story short I've been spending all my hot rod money on Doctor bills for the past month. Rant over, It did give me a good reason to do some of the little things that I have been putting of for a while now.

One of the things I've been needing to do was get the hood side gaps and fitment better. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443980751.711950.jpg the sides over lap on both the grill and cowl. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443980919.112406.jpg

So pretty straight forward fix, I just pie cut all four sides opened up the gap and welded everything back together. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443981142.500332.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443981199.356206.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443981246.471911.jpg Now with everything metal finished the gaps are spot on. The back of the cab always bugged the shit out of me the truck was chopped along time ago and was welded torch so it's warped pretty good, this is what I came up with to fix it, lots of extra work but worth it in the end! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986272.988496.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986309.265301.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986342.545282.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986393.028660.jpg Now with everything loose I clamped a pice or square tube to the back window section and welded the seam to insure the window opening is perfectly straight. Now with the bad metal cut out I can weld in the new pice, I decided to use 16 gauge metal to reduce warpage on such a flat area. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986824.456172.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443986886.628759.jpg Now the long process of metal finishing. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987158.758947.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987192.757881.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987232.724494.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987287.257215.jpg

Then I just repeated the same process for the other side. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987423.009967.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987467.372701.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987501.987746.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987556.212224.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987595.061275.jpg

Then finished with the center. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987752.111107.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987807.930663.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987845.436706.jpg Now the back of the cab is perfect! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443987913.070836.jpg

Then all I had to do was mount the wood I just drilled holes and welded studs from the outside of the cab then grind the weld smooth. Another thing that really bothered me was the front of the bed sat up to high and just looked funny I doubt anyone ever noticed but to me it stuck out like a sore thumb, so I dropped the front part of the bed almost 2 inches and It has a nice looking mini channel over the frame. I don't really have a good before picture but here's a after shot. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443989575.596928.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1443989621.072998.jpg
