Today's foray into history is a double feature. Actually the same rod but featured in two magazines. It may be a little "quirky" but that's what I like about it. The body started out as the front half of a 1924 phaeton with a bed made of plywood. It's '48 flathead was bored but destroked to hold it under 260 cu. inches to meet timing association rules for B class. There is no seat just "wrap around" upholstery (no doors) and a matching padded, upholstered floor. Left hood bubble is to clear the generator, one on right is just to make the hood symmetrical. It was in the January 1955 issue of Rod & Custom, and then the July 1955 issue of Car Craft, two mag features in 7 months!
"two mag features in 7 months". If you check the January '62 Hot Rod, April '62 Rod & Custom, and Vol. 1, #1, Popular Hot Rodding, June '62, you will see another RPU did 3 features in 5 months!
