Tell Norm that Bruce and Stevie want a trip report Wednesday at the Mexican restaurant in Cedar Park when yall get back to town!

Problems? Our 1964 buick LeSabre ate two waterpumps between Dallas and Austin in '72, so thats a for-sure bet for at least one Riveria. Im also predicting vapor lock once you cross the border into Texas. Otherwise you will have a great trip!

No break downs but on one car or the other a heater wont work up north and an AC wont work down south. Have a blast. Looking forward to reports with pics.

ANother movie in the making? Could this be your first full length fictional tale? Perhaps Judgment Night (Bronx, NY version).

Assuming twenty year old rubber stuff, I'm predicting tire , hose, and belt issues.

But, regardless, I predict you'll have a great time !! Go for it !!

    Ok so her goes:

NO automotive problems that cant be fixed in the matter of minutes.

    BUT!
Your flight into town will be delayed for no reason on a bright sunny day.

You will be stuck in traffic no matter what time of day it is trying to get back to Gow's place to finally see the long awaited prizes.

Depending on what the nights social occassions bring you will remark how unintelligently (or funny) people from Boston talk.

Your excitement around seeing and driving your new cars will only be surpassed by the quantity of drinks consumed while looking at your reflections in the shiny parts.

You will remark about how youve got a long day ahead and how you are tired from the traveling but one particular long winded storyteller just wont let you call it a night and that will be okay because all of his stories are so cool that you will be so interested in them that nothing else will matter while hes talking.

Youre next morning will be nearly afternoon by the time you get going.

You will drive several miles to Dunkin Donuts where they will get your order wrong and , yes, it will be your fault.

You will load up your cars and head out of town. By the time you hit Providence you will remark that "Boston is nice but you could NEVER live there".

One of the cars will get pulled over for speeding in Ramapo, NJ

A couple close calls of nearly running out of gas but no problems, you will get to Baltimore.

While at the show you will talk about how you are still pretty tired from some yank' keeping you up all night telling stories about nothing.

You will continue on from the show to Texas.

At some point one window will get stuck down during a rainstorm...thats it.

    Travel safe, guys!

  10. buy a spare fuel pump forom speedway motors they are cheep
you will have to do about 750 miles a day and that may give you some repair time
spare battery , jumper cables, tools ,voltmeter and test lite
tranny juice, some 15-40 diesel oil is good for fill ups
gas can at least 2 gal and a tranny funnel
and a tow rope is good if one of you is out of propulsion
if you got too little to worry about rags, wheel beaing grease, brakeclean

and likely you will have a couple wheel cylinder leaking by the time you reach home

heck i messed up a brake drum hauling to world of wheels this winter and had to get it turned, that will really make a car crabwalk, bad going in a enclosed trailer, that was a field service repair, had a decent winter to work outside in indiana lasr year:D

Your bladders won't be in sync, and you'll need to stop on the side of the road to do your business at least twice...the accommodations won't be ideal, bring baby wipes, lots of em. Just a guess!

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" confuse us said.

    Clogged fuel lines, delivery issues
    Trans slipping
    Wheel bearings

Don't Ban me if I win.

  14. The trip will be like the movie"deliverance"only with Buicks not boats[you can fight among yourselfs to see who gets to be Burt Reynolds]
Watch your backs and have a safe trip!

I drove my 32 to York PA from Southeast VA a few years ago with a fresh motor. The couple of hundred miles to York was the break in. A freeze plug leaked but a little stop leak fixed it.

I've been working day and night to complete my Model A. It looks like it's finished. With a little luck I can do a road test before Friday. In any event it will ride on a trailer to Baltimore.

Ryan check the tires (especially the spare),hoses and belts. If the car starts and runs I wouldn't expect fuel issues. I would be concerned about the brakes a little. If the radiator shows signs of leakage this may be a problem. In any event don't use a trailer, get in the dang thing and head south. See you in Baltimore.

Ok that was to nice, it will probably be a bad ground wire that is impossible to track down that will cause the most trouble. Goodluck!

Dont really know what will go wrong but WHO CARES!!!! It's about the adventure. I'm sure you guys will deal with it when and if it happens. If Norms car really does have dual quads he might need to stop a little more often for the petro though. Enjoy and have a good time. No matter what happens one way or the other you guys will be talkin about this for the next 20 years.

Fuel filter, Hi-Beams Burnt out and blown header gasket when you're trying to show off!
Bring extra water for overheating issues, and I have a feeling you're going to blow out a speaker!

Best of luck and safe travels!

  27. I'll go with fuel pump, filters, run out of gas at least once, overheating and last, but not least someone will lose a tranny. Of course hope I'm wrong on all accounts and happy trails.

This is some funny stuff. What could possibly go wrong, you got me and Lee Pratt escorting you two all the way back to Texas. I'm getting my tools together now, and extra hoses, a belt or two and a fuel pump and some filters and some wire and and and........I can't wait for the trip. Lee left today and I pull out Wednesday afternoon and am driving straight thru to BMore(grabbing my nephew in Dallas on the way), See you on Friday I hope.
