You could also try American Custom Cam, in Covina, CA.

Or Dema Elgin who has a web site. But he is in Santa Rosa Ca. and you may not wish to ship that far.

Thats a good point about the shipping. I sent a cam out a few years ago and had it ground. On its trip home it was kicked, dropped, and beat up so much it had a TIR of .030" when it finally reached my house! luckly the grinder shop had put insurance on the package.

  8. If you ship it, make a wooden crate w/ supports inside.

    Egge machine did mine.

As to shipping I put it in a piece of PVC pipe wrapped in pipe insulation.

Glued a cap to pne end and a thread in plug to the other.

No issues with shipping and they just sent it back the same way using my packaging.

Delta Cams in Tacoma,WA. can re-grind just about any camshaft.

  12. Same situation - plan to hop up a 50 straght 8 - any recommendations out there on cam specs (duration, lift etc) for the regrind or a package of mods that would work together for some increased streetable performance (compression, cam, intake etc)? Thanks

I use PVC pipe for all kinds of things, but never thought of the 'Cam Shipping Tube' idea.
GREAT idea, this will become the norm for cam shipping!
