I had the same idea about a 1950 Ford tudor I have . I really like p/u trucks and the Ranchero is the greatest thing that Ford made . I did see a couple shoebox p/u on this thread but can anyone tell me a site that will have some better pictures of some ?
How about the photo shop people on here . Can you do some up using a 49 or 50 Ford tudor into the Ranchero style ? I could really use some help here to get an idea if it's worth cutting one up or not .
The back bed I pretty much have a good idea in mound but I am not to sure how to do the back window section . I thought about using the completed top but just cutting the center section out and welding the front and back together .
Any help would really be great full .

Just take a vacation to Australia and pick one up. But I think they used a 4 door platform to start not two door. Judging by the rear roofline and window I would guess that it came from a 46-48 ford sedan.

I really wish they had them over here in the states ! They would have sold fairly well I think . Looks to be a fordor but the tailgate and rear is different from anything I think Ford had . It also looks a little longer than the fordor too . It also looks like it actually went up under the rear window some . Still ahead of it's time . I still would like to have someone with a Photo Shop do something up . Would like to see what they would come up with . I haven't ruled out the idea yet . I have a while till I start the build . I guess I will keep looking till I find a good picture on one .

1908 Cadillac touring turned into a truck. Must not have gone fast enough to need a windshield?

Here's a more practical version of the '50 Ford. Shorter, slightly chopped cab, rear window cut to fit. Even thought the car is stock below the belt line, the chopped cab makes it look longer.

Could you successfully graft mid-fifties caddy sheetmetal to a chebby advance design pickup?

I've scoured the net but can't find a pic of one I remember from one of my old car mags. The story in the magazine was that the 64 GTO had been hit very badly in the rear so the owner bought it back from the insurance company and made a truck out of it.

It had a custom made bed and was cool as hell. Can't remember what mag it was in but if anybody has it...

If this thing had Gene or George affixed to it's history it would have a restoration thread and diehard fans...

I kinda like it, but don't dig the grill.

Yes! It was red and it had a blower sticking up through the hood. I can still see it in my head, it looked cool as hell. I remember thinking what a great idea it was to save a car the would have otherwise been junked.I wish I could find that issue.

It had Jeep truck rear fenders, and was pretty nice.
