Either that, or "grandpa" had one weird "grungies" outfit for when he had to crawl around under cars! Yike!

'25 Jewett, not a make you hear mentioned often. It seems to me, one exceptional feature that makes Jewetts easy to spot is the extremely SQUARE rear body work! Named for Harry Jewett who, in his college days, was the FIRST man to score a touchdown wearing a Notre Dame uniform! Harry stepped up to help when Old Man Paige was getting on. The separate Jewett model was only made a few years before hot pricing competition finally forced Paige to sell out to the Graham brothers.

Robert Montgomery's ride in a Miller Speedster.

This is from Floyd Clymer's Cars of the Stars and Movie Memories from 1954.

  7. Looks like a circa 1916-17 Overland.

  8. The pregnant Buick was the 1929 model which looks quite different to the 1928 model. The car in the picture referred to might also be a '27. The goddess mascot was used on the '27 Master and on both Master and Standard in 1928.

The Maroochy Shire Hall in the 1930s. Painted car-parking spaces in the centre of Currie Street indicate that the road surface has been bitumenised, dating the photograph as later than January 1935. The arched roof of the cinema attached to the rear of the building can be seen to the right of the main façade.

    Photo of "ConVairCar" removed.

    Caption from site -
"The ConVairCar aerocar showed up in 1940; a conventional saloon car with aircraft wings and tail powered by a four cylinder Crosley engine. The idea was that once you landed and unbolted the aircraft bits, the little car could putter along at 80mph. The prototype crashed due a faulty fuel gauge and the project was scrapped."

Caption from site regarding ConVairCar appears to be incorrectly dated. ConVairCar, it seems from other sources, did not fly until post WW2.
