Bob's Beef Burger and In N Out were from the same owners.
Story I got was Bob's was around before In N Out and the families disagreed in expanding beyond one restaurant. Bob kept it and the other guy started In N Out in Baldwin Park and other locations away from Bob's Beef burger. That's why it was only after Bob's on Huntington Dr. closed in '84 that the Arcadia area got an In N Out. I liked BBB Too![IMG]

If you're ever in Dubai - FatBurger :)

It's where I first saw my 1959 Cadillac when the previous owner had it!

    Ok...I'll chime in here...

Lefty's in U.P., Washington, is pretty good, but I have a friend that is a native Californian, grew up on In-n-Out and Carl's Jr. his entire life. He claimed that In-n-Out was HANDS DOWN the best burger anywhere. When I would mention Frisko Freeze in Tacoma, Washington to him, all he would do was scoff at the statement, saying there is no other burger than an In-n-Out. I took him about three weeks ago to Frisko, and told him to let me order his burger (I'm a Tacoma native). One bite into his Triple Meat, Triple Cheese w/everything plus ketchup, and he was HOOKED. He ate there at least 5 more times in the 3 weeks after that! He says In-n-Out is good, but Frisko's got it beat...! Frisko Freeze is a time warp. Not much about that place has changed over the years, IT IS THE BEST!

Okay Phoenix guys... Earlier I waxed moronic about Harvey's wine burger on 16th south of Camelback... Bad news, they've changed owners and fries and the quality is just DONE. The new owner can't quite figure out why krinkle cut fries and a properly cooked burger is important... Sucks!

So, where does one get a good burger in town any more? NO IN and OUT or other fast food stuff. Wish I could agree, but In and Out is horrible. Used to stop there first thing when they were So-Cal only every time I was over, but I just don't like them these days now that they are down the street. Hell, if I'm going for fast food it's Whataburger all the way! But this isn't about fast food.

Nope, what I'm looking for is a cool little bar or joint. It has to be some where in this vast matropolis we live in... Somewhere! Any ideas where?

Damn, Just a couple of days ago I was moaning about how one of my favorite burger joints had gone down hill and sunk into the guagmire... And Saturday I found a great burger! The 5th avenue cafe on fifth and Thomas. Damn tasty! Not ready to call it the best burger in town, but damn good.
