I'm cleaning some stuff up and found the speedo drive off of the 1927 LaFrance I just finished...
So here's the big question. Is this part worth anything or does anyone need it?...
I do metal art and I could build something out of it but it is in such good shape not sure if I should...
This is the part that mounts to the wheel and spins the speedo cable...

    It's called a swivel joint...

Sure it's worth something to somebody. You'd be surprised what some SW stuff goes for. Post it in the classifieds either on the HAMB or some early-style resto site and you might get a couple hundred for it. Worth a try.

It's killing me... I've got an awesome idea for a moving gear structure using a small motor...
But Im not one to kill rare good parts...
I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.

Pictures... Have the gear that goes on the wheel and the cable...
Can anyone tell me anymore about it?
It came off a Brockway truck, but I wonder what else it will fit?
Forgot to post pic of part number for the swivel...
    It is #12003

That drive system is somewhat like the ones used on the early motorcycles. The large gear mounted on the spokes and the unit mounted to the frame or fork. I might be interested if you decide to sell it. It is a cool piece, Gary
