IMG_20140713_221321.jpg IMG_20150313_100448.jpg I thought I would introduce myself! My name is Keven everyone calls me Birdog. Some of you probably know me from Instagram as Hot Iron Speed Shop. Since I quite Instagram I figured I should do a little build thread for my 32 ford roadster that I found! So here's the history of it! It was built in the forties with filled wheel wells and sitting on a 33 ford chassis channeled. At some point the car was left with out a drive train and was sitting in the back of a high school shop. That's when Jim bean saw it and purchased it from his shop teacher. He spent the next year getting it back on the road. And drove it tell 1957 where he sold it. That was the last time it was ever registered. I bought it from the family that parked it. Here are a couple photos one of it now and one from 1954 with Jim

IMG_20140713_193612.jpg Thanks guys the club plaque is mine! Here's a pic of Jim now. I took the name off the title searched tell i found a jim Bean in the right age group and then I knocked a bunch of doors. tell some guy bought a house from him in the area. He ended up living a couple hours from me. When I got a hold of him I asked if he had a 32 roadster he said yes it was channeled. I asked anything specific he said ya I changed the deck lid from being a rumble to a regular only old people had rumble seats. Then he said he leaded in the drivers door cause it was cooler to hop over but you still need to let your girl in the passenger side. I asked if it had wheel wells he said nope welded and leaded in. Sold lol so I got go up and meet him it was a cool day!

It is totally up in the air at the moment. To paint or not to paint. Move the wheels forward or leave the long wheel base. At the moment I am sinking the original bomber seats between the rails so I can drive it comfortably.

  12. Birddog: Great find!!! It has cool character. The more you change on it, the further you get from the originality of it's hotrod upbringing. That said, there will be some things you have to do. Maybe the wheelbase thing. It's a little hard to see in the pics. It's very, very cool as is. Tim

There is nothing wrong with the wheelbase!

Get some cushions made to match the top, scuff it and give it the best brush paint job of an original color and then fix what "needs" fixing.

Changing stuff to meet the current fads is gonna leave you with a car that looks like everyone else's

This has the foundation to be similar to Snoop's story.... I'd make it safe and preserve the history of the car and hot rodding if it were me.
You seem to be taking the right steps so I'm sure whatever the outcome it will be good.

Wow what a cool car !!
    Congratulations !

    To cool for school.

  17. What an incredible story. Whatever you do to the car, and I hope you don't change its' character, you simply must give Jim a ride in it when it's roadworthy. Remarkable story!

Could we see a pic of you sitting in it? Are you sure you've expended all the fitment options? Id hate to see you cut up the x-member or frame material to get down in there.
I love the look of the car now. Great find, lucky bastard!

I was wondering why it had been a few months since I had seen anything posted from you on Instagram.

What was the color Jim had it? Was it that navy blue?

Ya still busy on cars just decided To kill it to much crap I didn't want to see. That's why I love the hamb so specific. Here's the paint colors this is from when the last guy Sanded the car down and rattle canned it. JIM had it the charcoal grey primer.

And a shorten torque rube 40 reared with a 39 zephyr tranny. It's running a 40 block but the one I pulled out was a bored 40 over with a duel carb fenton intake. It's running a 40 ford standard dash and a 39 banjo wheel I need the horn button tho.
