Trying to get our home built tear drop back on the road now that we have a good tow vehicle. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1402440095.344900.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1402440163.627261.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1402440198.427201.jpg

I'm guessing it is from the '40's.

I've gotten a lot of insperation from this site. Just got my 64 Aladdin on the road behind the 49 F 1. Just got the call from my agent my coverage is jumping $250. more because of classic coverage. What have the folks done for ins that have been towing trailers all this time? There are many very nice tow vehicles & campers on here, what companies have been easy to deal with?

Found this old Modernistic teardrop. It was in storage for the last 35 years. They were built from 46 - 48, sold as a kit or built product out of California. Not quite sure of the plans for it yet. Should be able to buff the aluminum to a mirror finish, but not sure if I want to destroy the patina look. Should look good behind the Deuce....

Looks like someone found a way that zoning law. "It's not a building Sir...and it ain't a trailer either"!

  11. Here is mine, a 1958 Carapark van. Made in Newcastle Australia by a long gone company.
Built like aircraft, steel frame with alloy cladding. When you look at the small details you can really see the quality.
It's my wife's project, just about stripped all the paint off of it. image.jpg

  12. Holy crap, Tim, that thing is way cool. Any information on it?

  17. Chuck, with the fish decals on the camper reminds me of my father in law,,years ago every car he owned had fish decals blaster all over them.

He even had them on a 66 Mustang GT hi-po 289/4speed. HRP

  18. Love the aquatic theme on the Shasta. Are the "wings" repop or custom?

The fish are an airbrush job that Steve did. Here's a closer pic. maybe you can see the bubbles and the sunlight rays in this photo as well.
The wings were built to match the originals, except we used a signfoam core instead of plywood so they can't rot like the originals.

  22. Have you had that long Eric? Kathy and I were just talking about how neat it would be to get and old Shasta or Fireball now that we have the Falcon. Would look pretty cool behind it I think. Would tow easy too once the 302 and C-4 are in. ;) 10626316_10205530812936710_8801447433676402902_o.jpg

I've had it about 4 months. The kids sleep in it occasionally next to the house, still haven't taken it out, but I hate camping LOL.

OK #1, you're teasing us. More damned it! More!
What engine is in the Dodge?
I've never seen a tongue wheel like that on the road. I thought that was just for moving it around a lot.
Alfred E. Newman in the window really catches your eye and cracks me the F--- up.

If you are in the Indianapolis area, we are having a vintage camper display at our swap meet and cruise-in May 15 & 16 2015. It will be at the Johnson Co. Fairgrounds Franklin IN. Hook ups are available if desired. Send me a message for more info.

Me too. I've pulled a lot ot RV's, been in many campgrounds, and drove a tractor trailer, yet never ever saw a tongue dolly wheel on the ground while towing. I suppose it's to help with the tongue weight but I can't see that wheel lasting too many miles.
What me worry? I'd worry plenty!
