Its fantastic when history like this is saved and falls into the right hands. Its a beautiful car that is simple yet nails everything perfect.A testament to less is more.

    Cool story and cool car.
I love the Texas size trunk, sometimes comes in handy as a pickup.

It was mine 10 years ago, I had it four years. I have only this pic of painting I did. There was about 4 people sitting inside when this was taken. I have no digital pics as unloaded, and no scanner either at this moment.

Thanks all for the great feedback! This weekend I went for a treasure hunt in the trunk of the car, and this is some of what I found there:

I got 6 Strombergs with the car, 3 of them were stored in their original boxes:

These 3 were chromed.... ain't she pretty?

Here is the installograph for the carbs:

I also found a brand new distributor cap assembly in the original box:

Hey, what's this at the bottom of the box?

Too cool, it was the original cash invoice from Wynn Bros. Auto Parts dated 9/26-1960! I can only guess that Tom bought this after the engine supposedly blew up in 1959, maybe he had planned to get it up and running again?

This was still in the door.... last oil service 2-3-1955?

Hehe, no I knew about most of the parts. But there were also stuffed in a lot of other not so cool parts in between, so this weekend I had the time to go thoroughly through it :)

  12. That would be a great find here in the US,but really fantastic for it to show up in a foriegn country in such great shape. Its just great and miracle that it landed in the hands of some one who will perserve it. Use and enjoy!! Ditto the sombrero caps. Thanks for sharing

    Thanks Klaz.
Most of the things in the trunk is going back on it. For now I'm just putting the 216 offy intake and fenton headers on the 235. I will also put the mallory distributor and coil back on. Maybe next winter I will put a 216 back in it, should be no stress finding one since we live in the country where most car people worship chevy 350's.... hehe

It was advertised on blocket.se...the funny thing is that I have never been on blocket before. This was my first visit, and BANG, it took me about 5 minutes to find and buy a car..... so now I don't dare to go back there :)

The car was located in Sunne, a three hours drive from oslo

HAHa thats fun.Good Luck with the car and i look foorward to see it some day.
Its better if you not take more then 2" inch block and seperate the leaf and
change the form little on every leaf, its mutch work but its worth the time.

  27. Damn how could i miss this thread! Congratulations Sondre, what a cool find!!!

And hey, I remember seeing this car in the ebay auction, where it was listed in April. I got the link emailed from a friend, but had no money then. Hope to see it this summer in person. Wow this is so cool, the old receipt is awesome!

Thanks Marc, puh I'm glad you didn't have the money :)
Yeah for sure, would have loved to check out your chevy too.

You know if I had bigger balls I would have had Kjetil to chop the roof on it like on Dan Landons' Club Coupe and frenched the headlights. That would have meade the car so sweeet. But hey, I don't want the ghost of Sam Barris to haunt me :)
