There is a inverted flare to 1/8" NPT bushing (Speedway sells them), then a 1/8" NPT male-male elbow to the residual pressure valve. I had to do a little parts hunting, but it made for a clean, simple installation.

I dunno...they are from my albums on the HAMB. I posted a question to the moderators. Hopefully it gets sorted out.

This one I am saving for future reference. I'll never be able to swing a 32 anything in my life time but I'll assuredly borrow a few things from this thread in building my Model A Victoria.

Got the rear brakes plumbed last weekend...

With an 8BA in a 32, the lower radiator hoses get kinda tricky. I figured the best way would be to angle the lower outlets on the radiator down. I made up a dummy lower tank out of a 2x4 and some sheetmetal. That way I could test fit ahead of time and have a pattern to take to the radiator shop...

Your Nash boxes are so dang cool.

I really like the direction of the build.

Beautiful job on the Nash box, Neil. On Old Rusty I have a similar setup with the lower hoses, and was aware of a potential rubbing of the hose from the v-belt at high revs due to the belt "whipping".

I protected against failure by firstly wrapping some cable ties round the hose, but when I saw those getting ate into by the belt, I put a hose clip round the hose at just the right place so if the belt whips out, it will just run harmlessly against the smooth part of the hose clip.

Your setup might be ok, but I mention it so you can look closely in that area and look at the hoses for signs of contact.

    Mart.

It's a worm and roller like a 37-up Ford box.

Love everything. Any way you could do a tech on how to make hard fuel lines like that?

    hi Neal,
your sedan looks great. What is your feeling about the increased bearing load on the 8 BA generator with the added early type fan,the early gen has a much larger front bearing to deal with it.
not being critical, just interested in your opinion.
super nice work as usual, love the battery hanger.
cant wait to see it back together
    cheers,
    Bruce

Love the details, Neal. Can you tell me the Brand name of the #71914 rad hose that you've pictured? I'm heading down a similar path. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up Mart, I will take a closer look.

Bruce - Wasn't the big bearing a one year only 39 thing? The early fan mounted generators used a small ball bearing and a small diameter shaft. I figure with the larger diameter shaft and a sealed bearing...plus a short hub 33-34 fan I am better off than running the long hub 32 fan on a 32 generator. I might be proved wrong...but I think it will be fine.

It's a Dayco hose. Those were left over pieces from a much longer hose that I used as uppers on another car. You might be able to find a shorter hose with the same bend. The other part works great as an upper for a 21 stud in a 32 using 33-36 water pumps...

    What a nice build!

Is there a good story behind this being a fordor?
I thought 99.99% of all hot rodders would rather be dead then be seen in a fordor!
A 32 fordor and '50s build, would on any other thread be called a "oxymoron", like Army Intelligence.
But since I was not around in the '50s, I might just be plain wrong on that one.

But patiently waiting for Update on this fine car!!

  30. I can't speak for Neal, but I'd love to have a 50s styled fordor some day. Convenient when you have more than 2 people with someplace to go. Nice to be able to haul friends or stuff around.
