Built this one a couple of years ago in tribute to the old '60's. Did however, make this one streetable. Had fun building it, it got a lot of attention on the street. But....... Old age, bad knees got in the way. Now it just sets in the barn and gets fired up about every other month or so. Can't even get in it anymore (no doors, nosebleed stance)......damn. It's still a cool conversation piece of days gone by. Still makes me grin as I pass by.

Do you have a separate thread on this build? I was thinking about this project a few weeks ago but couldn't remember your username.

Oh, its had some changes alright, the intake and headlights, tires ect. paint is probably newish as well, but if that aint an old race car, someone sure went to a lot of trouble to make it look look like one. Plus, with the prices stock TFs and TDs are pulling nowadays, not many guys would have the financial wherewithal to cut one up nowadays.
If someone did some research on MGs that raced in the area in the mid/late sixties with bbc power, they might find something.

Unfortunately we lost John Williamson last week and it's his funeral tomorrow.
John built the "Satan's Chariot" VW in 1966 and has been connected with drag racing ever since.
I'm gonna miss the ugly bastard ......... he also got an extra's gig in a "Mad Max" movie because of his good looks.

I used to race against George Wegner in the '70's when the little Honda was powered by a Holden 6 pack. Can't remember whether he updated the Honda with a Ford Windsor engine ....... maybe it wasn't till he stepped up to the Corolla.

My dad had one of these in the '60s, we used it for hunting and fishing in the Black Hills. I loved that Willies but like this version even more.:D

  27. I will change things up a little.
Henry J's were common as a gassers however as stockcars they were very strange.
This car was from Warnerville N.Y. and was found in a junkyard.
