First pic is what it looked like when I drug it home. I built it with the Tru spoke wires and just got it on the road. Then d ecided I wanted to try something else. The red/ chrome smoothies really set it off. Gives it more of a hot rod feel.
Shiny black and Tru's would work. Esp. a Hot Rod (wikkid idle) motor & interior. Try a set of unpolished 5 spokes as a mock up sometime.
The steelies look nice and change it up....a hood with those wires would definently change it....I dig that look. If it were mine ....only one setup for me on a tall t....
spokes look good, red steelies look good, I would put 5-spokes on it and they would look good too. nice car.
Yeah the steelies definitely change it up, from street rod to hot rod, I think. A hood ( top only) is in the works.
As a card carrying member of the Official HAMB Gold Chainers Street Rods I commend you for not cutting up this fine example of Henry's early offering and making it into a RR like a lot of the others on here. No seriously I like it. I'm not stuck on the 40's-50's, I grew up in the 60's and I like the look of a stock body. In the 70's guys would have had 10-12" wide wires with Firestone racing tires on the back. A buddy built a '29 Sedan Delivery back then with the wide tires & I think it's still stashed in Portland. It's nice if you have the cash & garage space to have a couple of sets of wheels & tires to change the look once in a while.
A T coupe like yours is one of the cars that can get away with Tru Spokes. They actually didn't look bad on there, but the red wheels are perfect. Don
They both look great. Swap up the look every so often will keep it fresh. Hood top will work very well on that car. Good eye overall. Nice car.
Personally, I prefer the Tru-Spokes.. The red smoothies look good too, but a Halibrand or Five spoke would have put the hot rod look over the top. The chrome on your wires look good, but if they are the least bit shaggy or you run across a set that isn't as nice, other you might try is this... Painted Trus.
