Neighbor's Complaint mopar was a regular at Maple Grove. So was Joe Slick and Joe Cool - both '60s Camaros. Saw Hemi-Roid somewhere. Joe Jacono's Rollin' Stone FC was a favorite. Frantic Ford digger and FC. Altered States - several of those. Beast from the East - comp dragster. Under Pressure - several of those also. Penny Pincher FC - had pennies airbrushed on the birdcatcher butterflys. Boston Srangler - loved the innovative Carp-erators. Hemi Hunter.

Hemi Roid was I think a 37 Chevy coupe with a hemi the name was gold leafed down the sides

  5. A 57 Chevy from U.S.30 drag strip in Gary Id. called Shake, Rattle, and Run!

  6. When I was at OCIR,my friends dad introduced us to this HUGE Hawiian, maybe Samoan, guy that ran the "Quarterbender" Funnycar. He told my friend to give him a quarter. He took it and bent it in his hand, between his thumb and index finger! I think my friend still has the quarter!
Anybody else remember this car or guy?

I have always named my racers. My present fuel bike is Pipedreams and the ProStocker is Money for Nuthin. A couple of cool car names that I always remembered from my Minnesota Dragways days was the Velvet Hammer and Cold Steel.

  15. When I was a 16, I remember a couple of cars named....
67 chevelle "Hungry Bull"(it was also the first car I saw pull the front wheels off the ground), 69 GTO "Hangin Judge", 57 T-Bird "Passin Gas", a rail "Fuel Injected Insanity".....I had/have now "It isnt NESTLES but its Quik!!!" on the tail of my current ride(74 GTO), had "Orange Crush" on the back of my 76 Astre, had "She SHOW CAR, we dont run her" on the back of my 65 Fairlane(It was a rat rod before they were cool!), and my current project "A" will use Fuelish Pleasures, I saw it already mentioned...but I had lettered that on the back of a model 32 coupe when I was in my teens in the late 70s, also always liked the 70s vega funny car "Black Magic" logo it looked like it was coming from a genies lamp.

I think I've seen at least twenty cars named Miss Behavin. Each guy thought it was original and he was the first.

Don't know about it being neat or not, but the name was fitting for a race car. I named a few of my cars Madness back in the late 60's, mid 70's. Here's one of them.

Bill Drake's Austin gasser "Ol' Rumble Guts". Always thought it was a cool cowboy type name, like havin' a pony named Dogmeat.
