Thanks fellas, I really do appreciate your thoughts!

Well, still no body/chassis pics. I spent a solid eight hours at Bob's today and I THINK the next step is to put the body on.

We reviewed a few details this morning and decided to a few little things because once the body is on those things will be a lot more difficult.

As posted earlier today, the doors above needed some attention. I sanded down the nibs and drips because the very edge will show next to the upholstery. Gotta look right, right?

Did a little adjusting to the trans cooler lines. Again.

I polished the bolts for the rear shocks (department of redundancy department) and reinstalled them.

Pulled the master cylinder to see if the boot would fit over the end of it and in the hole in the chassis, no dice. Out comes the grinder and carbide bit, now it fits. Bench bled the MC while it was out too, then reinstalled it.

Bob worked on a bunch of different stuff and spent a while in the paint booth doing (hopefully) the final time.

No more pics than the ones I already posted.

Body on chassis soon, I promise!

Ha! This one was never intended to be built at this level either. It's a disease. Some part you fabricate early in the process turns out really nice and sets the stage, whether you like it or not.

In this case it was the frame. It turned out so clean and bitchin that it warranted a nice body. The original plan was red oxide on a very basic hot rod, LMAO.

Yes and the disease is easy to catch and there is no cure.
I'd put my money on Larry moving from rattle cans to powder coat before he was done. :D

And knowing how cool Larry's cars are I'm sure all of the early rattle can stuff would go out for chrome before the build was done.

And we'd be there on his thread saying, "waiting patiently."

Man, oh man, has life been crazy.

Up at Bob's today cleaning 60 years of grease off of the generator, then painting it. Nothing too exciting but making alow process.

Yes, yes I did. I usually proofread everything I write before I send it, then again after its posted. It slipped through, LOL.

Real exciting stuff here. Cleaned, painted and partially reassembled. Original emblems untaped too.

And the starter. Yay me.

BUT! Tuesday is the day. We have both set aside the time to put the body on the chassis. Monday will be nice weather so Bob will paint the trunk and dash. Tuesday will be cold so no painting and my afternoon is free. Too often we are working on different projects at the same time. Tuesday is the day. Definitely. Count on it.

    Maybe.

  18. Hi Guys, I'm still putting my nose in to follow along although I don't say much but then, I saw the Gennie and starter motor and had to comment, hell yes, very nice that you managed to save the name tags as I too like seeing them on the original pieces. I too am getting excited to see the body and frame come together but in a sense, it is a shame to cover that nice frame.

The starter tag won't be seen but I just couldn't paint over it.

I hate to cover the chassis too but at this point I've seen it for so long I'm ready to cover it up! :D
