HAHA, its strange how there is doers and then there is video game junkies.
My roommate plays a good 5 hours a day, he gets home at 5:15, Between that time and 1am his goes between TV and video games.
Then has made comments about me never getting stuff done on time, bahaha.
The same guy was making comments the other day while watching a baseball game as to the reason some athletes are in shape, is cause they have the money to pay trainers and cooks for their food. I thought to myself, maybe its because they are doers, not just dreamers. Good thing the house is mine or I would have had the same issue as you have had with your neighbor. Dreamers are all the same.

A little update. I haven't really been working on the shoebox. I have been driving it like crazy. I drive it at least 65 miles everyday to and from my son's school. He loves it ad it's good bonding time. Neighbor is still a huge douche bag but as of today we will be moving to New Jersey. Our house will be going up for sale in the next few days. I have a very short list of to do things and I am going to try and have the car in paint before the move.

My wife is from Jersey and I'm from Detroit so as much as I like living in Los Angeles its better for the family to be closer to each other. Sad the weather will be bad during the winter months but there are ways around it. Is what it is and I'll make the best of it.

Thanks Daddio we waited till the last minute to let anyone know we were leaving from the time my wife signed her contract to when we left was 2 weeks.
I did a 48 hour thrash to get car in paint so it wouldn't rust as soon as the car made it here. I have decided that once we buy a house and get settled in I will fix the few areas of body work and put the car in gloss. I love the satin in the evening and at night. My son Tyler and Blake the morning we left for New Jersey with the two 50's! First time since I've owned car it's had all its windows and paint on it. Took 11 layers of primer off.

I bought this paint 4 years ago and figured car needed paint to go to New Jersey so I used it. HRF midnight blue sprayed pretty easy.

I would have loved to do that but he was a renter and he never left long enough to do anything. The cops came over a week before house went up and thanked me for being the bigger person and the cop that had been over the most said he can't believe I didn't do anything back to him. I did show them pictures of him and his buddy smoking weed on the back porch that I took at noon the day before. My wife and son gave me the strength to not fuck him up.

Thanks Eric! Love the way yours is turning out! Just having fun with my son till we move into our new house and I can blow it to pieces to put a real paint job on it. I also might do a merc grille surround. Been debating on changing stuff up like doing dash over and hanging this one on the wall.

Thanks, I'm a sucker for Merc shells so it gets my vote. The hard/fun part is finding one that's solid and won't require it's own mortgage. Why do you want to change the dash?

I found a merc shell already it needs a little work but useable. Once I get settled in and have the metal shop back up and running I might work on making one for shoebox if I can find a nice one. I'd love to get a hold of a meteor surround and see if I can make them.
I was thinking of modifying the stock dash to have the speedometer in the middle and dual clocks pods. Just something I've had cooking in my head for a while.

I sold my truck when we moved to New Jersey so this is what we have. I drove my son to and from school 65 miles a day in Los Angels in it. Cars are meant to be driven and that's what I'm doing in this one! We did do doughnuts in the parking lot of Lowe's! Tyler calls them round & rounds!
I'd love to come home with a chriscraft wooden boat!

Very cool to see you actually USING your shoebox . That's exactly what I intend to do also . I do hope you have some sorta undercoat or WaxOyl or something under that sucker , or the salty east coast winter slop will kill it in a hurry :( .

Buddy it's undercoated over truck bed liner! We were out before they salted the roads today. I fixed everything once I guess if I had to I'd do it again. I'm in it for under $5k including car and the paint to flake the top. I've been debating chopping it 2 inches over the winter if I buy a daily driver.

I think it looks fantastic unchoped, but it is your car so you have to do what makes you happy.

I'm 95% going to leave it 5% thinking of chopping it. I built it as a throwback to a car I use to see cruising in Detroit when I was a kid that sported Peterbuilt emblems. There was a group of guys that all ran the emblems I would say 6-8 guys and all but one drove Mercs. The lone shoebox last I saw it was in white and baby blue primer in 1989 and looking real rough. My father and I use to have heated discussions on if it was chopped or not. The guy wasn't sure as he bought it with all the mods done. If it was couldn't have been more than 1 1/2" or 2". My father's point was always no one would put in all that work for such a mild chop not even back in the day.

I like the car as it is has that wow factor. I drive mine daily but not with this new liquid stuff their putting down around here. I bought the boat back last fall 26 years after I sold it.

Thanks Paul! I like it a lot will change a few things when I redo it. I just did that paint in it so it wouldn't rust as easy when we moved. I will do something fancier and diffidently gloss. Any pictures of the car pulling the boat from back in the day?
