Well I finally broke down and got a 32 frame for my roadster. I have not got much done since getting it home. I need to trim the sub-rails in the trunk, I sat then engine in tonight so I can start getting it all set up. Here are some pics of where I'm at now. Don't mind the garage it is a mess work has been keeping me busy so I don't get much time in the garage.
That deuce frame is going to make a solid foundation for your hot rod. Looks good already just sitting under there. Don
This thing has been nearly done once and I did not like it, I have had it for about 4 years now and never liked the model a frame under it.
You will also pick up 2 1/2 inches more room in the engine room due to the 106 inch wb vs 103.5. That really comes in handy. Don
I need to figure out how to redo the trunk sub rails then drill and tap the frame for the new mounts.
I'll come up there and get it, if your tired of working on it!! I would really like to have a roadster. Keep chipin at it, it will come together for you. Good lookin start over.
The roadster looked pretty sweet when it was full fendered,,sitting on top of Deuce rails it should be a knock out! HRP
Thanks Hotrodprimer I liked it that way but it was half assed and needed a lot done so I decided to go hi boy 32 rails, I built a nasty small block for it but have a 401 nailhead that I had planned on using that is going to get the full treatment after I wear out the small block.
Here are a few new pics, trimmed out the trunk area and test bolted in my trans to see where I need to modify the sub rail.
Rod and Custom magazine has a article on doing this. Look for the issue with Dean Lowe's vanilla colored Chevrolet hardtop on the cover. BTW ... Dean Lowe is a member here
