    The side view with the proportion looks a little bit strange for me,also the general impression with all the new components (for example the SU carburetor)looks like a replica with no soul.I have nothing against replicas but when you are reading the advertisment you get the feeling that is one of the remaining 20 original C6.

    The buyer must educate himself in order to make a wise purchase.

    So this is a moist idea albeit a little off topic. Austin 7 chassis with a Riley 9 motor - cant find much on the interwebface - can anybody expand. GN front axle apparently! ,A7 Riley 9.jpg .

    ==================
    Helo Kume,
    Beautiful machine, indeed!
    It seems that following description is written by owner:

    "A pre-war special that has been regularly campaigned with the VSCC and is also a hugely fun road car. As the documents and photos on file testify to, an enormous amount of thought and funds went into building this very special car, with particular focus on the power to weight ratio and balance. The car was built using an 1930 Austin 7 chassis, custom made 'GN' style front axle, a competition prepared 1928 Riley 9 engine and gearbox, and with a Brooklands-style aluminium body. The combination of these factors make for a great handling and fast sports car, capable of 90mph (if you are brave) and regularly hassling much more powerful cars where it has raced, including Prescott, Loton Park, Silverstone, and Donnington.
    The engine specification includes Phoenix crank and rods, Treen inlet cam, Imp exhaust cam, H/C pistons, and has a full flow oil system. The gearbox has Brooklands ratios and is connected to a seriously lightened flywheel and clutch. The car has Marchal headlights and has a phenomenally good-looking body. The tail section is removable to access the battery, petrol tank and fuel pump.
    The car has just returned from a full brake rebuild at Brewster Mudie, and earlier in the year had an extensive post-winter service and tune-up also at Brewster Mudie. The car comes with 4 spare tires (two of which have new Blockley tires on), two spare basic front wings, and a number of other parts. There are extensive documents and photos of the car’s build, which really show the level of workmanship and detail that went into its creation.

    Having a Riley Nine and from association with Austin 7's in the past, I feel the Riley engine and gearbox is too heavy. Plus the 7 handles and stops badly enough without all that extra power and weight.

    Zoran, Thank You for the dimensions drawings of the early style midget race car. Thats the look I'm trying to acheive. The whole package I have and stuff I have acquired is crambed into a shed, awaiting the opportunity to start on it. I'm still looking for proper wheels for it, The bolt pattern is 4 on 4. (4 lugs, 4" apart) and I am hoping find 10" wheels, in 4' and 6" width. No luck so far. Bill Rinaldi

    Bill,
    I am glad if I was helpful! Good thing is that somebody had such complete of componets and want and can build such auto!
    I am not sure for wheels in USA, but in Europe still could be found old wheels from old Mini Morris or Austin!
    If holes for bolts are not at same distance, new could be drilled between them on proper distance? In old days in Blegrade, some of my friends done so when couldn't find good wheels for their "sport" autos or for real sport autos...

    Zoran
    P.S.: expecting photos when you start building midget-racer!
