Another period example of "fats & skinnies", as opposed to bigs & littles. The front and rear tyres seem similar in overall diameter, though the rears are clearly fatter, and fitted to rims of smaller diameter.

  21. I love this thread...

Since I'm currently building a Cycle Kart, maybe I should look at doing a Cycle Car next...

The Morgan RIP Special is still one of my Favorites:

I find the cyclekart format a bit technically restricting; not enough opportunities for mad-scientistery. The prehistory of the movement and regions adjacent were much more interesting:

Dawie, that was the whole point of the cyclekart movement....just enough to have fun.Sure a lot cheaper than a GN @ $125,000 U.S.D. or an Amilcar starting @$30 K on upward to the same as a GN or Frazer Nash money...

I get the motivation; it just doesn't do it for me.

  30. Cycle Karts, like Bob and Fred said, are about fun, not more Power. Old, pre-war car styled adult go cart
For me, it is a way to build something that fits in my 2 car garage, with 2 other cars in it...

You figure a stock 200cc class single thumper with a CVT will do about 50 mph, with a single disc brake....

I have thought about doing a Cycle Car build when the kart is done, I live in Yuma, AZ, where you can put license plates on ATVs... bet I could get it road legal...

    My build is here: http://www.cyclekartclub.com/phorum/read.php?2,13305
