I would sell the Studebaker parts to somebody building a Studebaker.
you can save a couple bucks if you aren't in a hurry by waiting for some nice Isky or McGurk rockers to turn up.
or if time is more important and you want better technology buy Tony's rockers.

I'm in no hurry Paul, got lots of time, it will probably take 1 1/2-2 years to finish the car. Probably what I will do is get a set of stock rockers from you, and then if I find a set of Iskys over the next year, I will go solid, otherwise I will put a hyd cam in it. I'd really prefer solids.
Once I get a core from you, I will be pretty much broke till the new year, Christmas is expensive with a 5 yr old in the house, and I am going to Vietnam for a month in January, so money will be tight for the next few months.

JohnnyD--love the look of your engine compartment-spot on!!! Have a couple of those intakes laying around and may put one on a 40 coupe I'm doing with an early 327.

    Thanks Dale ...

  7. This isn't as detailed as most of the engines on here. But I will get more picky about the details once I get the truck painted and going. This is a 1959 348 with 1960 3x2 setup in my project 34 truck.

  11. May not be as detailed as you wish but nothing is nicer than a "W" block in a hot rod!

  13. Jandlcars, I love that you've left the telephone booth cab on your T truck. Way too many are getting chopped.

Thanks! I'm running a Crane 113801 hydraulic cam and I'm really pleased with how it runs. The WCFB's are crazy responsive. Just take a little extra time with the intake install. This intake is kind of a mismatch to the larger ports of the 327 heads. I used ultra black real thin and let the gaskets set up on the heads a bit so things wouldn't move around when I sat the intake down. I think you'll be more than happy.

This is exactly what I want my motor in my 49 to look like. What intake and carbs are you running?

I'll have a 63 327 soon. I'd like to dress it like this to drop in my 40. Is that a corvette air cleaner. I sure don't remember the wire looms like this. What about them?

The intake is the cheap and easy part, wait till you try to find the 9 fin valve covers...

Yeah, that's a late C1 air cleaner. Those aren't actually wire looms, that's shielding for a Corvette so that it doesn't get radio interference from the ignition system. Used only on Corvettes - cause they are fiberglass. I thought it looked cool though, so I put it on. '63 was the first year for alternators, keep that in mind.

Thanks qzjrd. I haope to find some bracketry for a generator. Also, in some of the photos I have seen, the 63 'vette air cleaner looks a lot different: bigger and with 2 long skinny snouts, both facing directly forward. Some of the 250 hp vettde motors I looked at had the big chrome distributor housing, others haven't.

IT'S A '56-'61 VETTE DUAL 4 SET UP. '56-'57 AIR CLEANERS ON CARTER WCFB CARBS. THE FACTORY DUAL QUAD CARBS AND ASSOCIATED PARTS ARE PRICEY, BUT WCFB'S CAME ON ALOT OF 50'S CARS, SO A CLONE DEAL WOULD'NT BE TO FAR OUT OF REACH. THE INTAKES ARE REASONABLE. KEEP IN MIND IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE THOSE NICE NINE FIN COVERS THEY HAVE THE STAGGERED BOLT HOLES.
