  5. This was the first car that came to mind, so here it is. I saw it as Paso 2 years ago and although it may be a bit on teh gold chainer side, I was blown away by how creative and clever it was. Everything that looks like wood... is. The dash and doors must have taken a million years to fit and finish correctly. The bed is unreal. If I had to say anything bad, it would be the off the shelf vette lights.

I'd forgotten about that. In fact I still can't remember what happened except that it died. That thing could sure rotate the earth.

i remember this Blown 34 Ford with a Hemi in hot rod and saved it for years, but it's gotten away. One of the baddest cars ever. This is one of MY favorite cars ever:

So are there any cars here that can go to HRA's "show cars" section?

A few years ago the 392 gave up in a ball of fire at Wentzville. The crank was dragging the ground when it was pulled out of the trees. Rex Stevens didn't get hurt bad but did suffer some minor burns, I think from grabbing the hot door handle to get out of the car. From what I understand it was the same block Jerry Dawson had been running for many years. That was one bad ass hot rod. Steel body, working doors, left hand steer and a blown hemi on nitro. I believe Rex still runs a version of the speed sport roadster.

There used to be some pictures of the last pass on the net but I can't find them. It was one hell of a fireball.

That was my understanding as well, but I was never sure I heard it right. If so, that is amazing longevity for a nitro motor.

I offer this to remind you whippersnappers where badass came from, and also to illustrate that meanest/baddest can be shiny as well as ratty and rusty.

I tried to find a picture of Jack Chrisman's A sedan to post too, but couldn't find one. Without a picture, just imagine the car represented by Chrisman -- competition -- flathead -- fuel -- sedan.

It's interesting that Model A's dominate the cars listed in this thread. Must be the sun visor.

  30. You nailed it! That bug eyed little yellow devel is totally BADDD ASSSSS ;-)

Actually, I'm only half kidding. I had a spridget once and loved that thing to death. Was iffy on buying it, but the guy poped the hood and the sight of the two side carbs with pan cake filters just looked too cool to pass up.[/quote]

That little yellow car is a Crosley Hot Shot. Made in USA.
