If it has armrests, clock, backseat, etc...what is it? Coupe Deluxe?

  2. Sport coupe.

Jesse...your '52 is lookin' sharp. I'm might have a line on that part you need if you haven't found it yet.

the official names are as follows..

bottom of the line is the styline special business coupe. stripped to the bone with no back seat, no chrome trim above the beltline, no fender/door spears, rubber instead of chrome on the rear fender gravel shield part. drivers side sunvisor only. no clock, radio, lighter or prolly even a heater. though radios, clocks, heaters and lighters were dealer installed. rear quarter windows are fixed. no chrome on the garnish mouldings

then you get the styline special sport coupe. a business coupe with a back seat.

styline deluxe sport coupe stainless above the beltline.. around the front and rear windows, as well as the side windows. front fender/door spears, 2 inside visors, clock ashtray and lighter, chrome gravel shields for the rear fenders, arm rests, the quarter windows slide back like 2", inside garnish mouldings have a stainless strip on them.

I think you see more deluxes than specials... ESPECIALLY in the fleetline series. and in my search for pics there were definitly way more 2 door sedans and fleetlines than coupes.

Why is it a sedan? Ive never been sure myself. Its a two door. Not much of a trim package.

Roof line, 1/4 window size, ass-end length... it's a sedan. I think people confuse this a lot... judging by ads on eBay and Craigslist.

Lotus-the red on your car is sooo right. Lines up nice, just enough kick. I love those coupes.

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it but I can not. A HAMBer photoshopped my car and added the red. I was content with it being black till my wife plowed into the passenger fender. Then I decided to have the red added while the new fender was being put on.

For you '49-'52 folks trying to determine what body style you have ... find "Style" # on body tag on fire wall ...
2 door sedan styles end with 11
    Coupe styles end with 27
    Bel Air ends with 37
