  1. hello guy's
I have an GM steering column in my 1946 ford and I'm wiring my car for the first time.
    I have a wiringkit from E-Z wiring.
The column also has the switch for the wipers, but I can't find any info how to connect the wiperswitch to the wiringharness.

I have two connectors coming out of the column
the following wires are not discribed in my wiring diagramph.

    big connector:
    position F green
    position E green/brown

    small connector:
    position B to F pink
    position C purple
    position D white
    position E grey

    please help me
    Jurgen

The wiper switch will probably not work with your wiper motor, the switch and motor have to match.

You can probably leave the two green wires disconnected. They might be for the key switch (buzzer)?

I wired my 47 wipers (12 volt single speed) black-ground, blue and light blue are wiper wires.Dont know what wiper motor you have. blue from fuse block. 16 ga. Painless has GM wire codes on their site.

I assume it's a junkyard GM column with the intermitent wipers on the stalk. Mine has the pigtail coming out of the column. That attaches to a harness to a gray box, about the size of a pack of cigarettes, which controls the wiper motor functions such as park, speeds, delay and washers. The wiring from That box go to the wiper motor. If this is the same as yours, then once you get past the control box the wiring is simple, just get a wiring diagram for the car the column is from and match it to your motor.

Light blue and dark blue on that kit is left and right front turn signals and pigtails for the turn signal indicators.
EZ wire kits have no provision for that wiper switch on the column. They supply a + ign. wiper power wire, and a wiper wire from the switch to the wiper motor. It won't work for you and that column switch.
Not to mention that column is gross but you get a pass for being in a far away place that parts are surely hard to come by. Good Luck

I give you the wrong info! Thanks badshifter. Went back through paper work and remembered that I had power to coulmn and wired most of the circuts before I determined by use of volt meter by checking for power with wiper switch on. My paper work for wiring was not the best either. Believe gray wire was power coming out of column for wipers, mine are single speed, go pretty fast. Blue and light blue are front turn signals. Should have checked before I posted.

  7. thanks all for your reaction.
I found a wiring diagram in a service manual from a local corvette specialist.

this is what I found and I think it wil work for me.
    only the wirecolors are different.
