Mine: Large journal ('69), bored .040, 11.5:1 pistons, solid lifter (original GM) Corvette 375hp cam, Weiand WC4D intake, Large logo 97's (got to rebuild one more), Speedway "Corvette" ram horns. Stock single points distributor (for now). Cal Custom finned valve covers, & I have a speedway finned pan to match. On a stand at the moment. I have a Saginaw 3 speed & '60-'62 style cast iron bell housing w/ 11" clutch to be bolted on the back. Then, it goes in my chopped '36/'37 Chevy Pick Up.

Something cool about a 327 in my opinion. This is a 365hp I bought new from Penske Chevrolet 102_0057.jpg when I bought the car 40 years ago this month. I have replaced one broken ring and a couple of broken valve springs but other than that it has been a great engine.

Yeah boy!! I celebrate this day every year... 20170327_175307.jpg

Stock 1964 300 hp version with upgraded cam. I purchased the engine in Las Vegas, New Mexico in 2005. Then it had around 60,000 original miles. Still going strong.

  13. 327 in the '47 waiting patiently to live again. Well, I call it a 327 anyway; if you pull a head and measure as @Johnny Gee suggests, then it would be a 333.

I have THREE 327's, not that I planned things that way. I have no way of posting photos, and it's probably good I don't; if I knew how, I'd be posting everything, and never get anything else done. Ya'll have some nice examples of Chevrolet's best, all around, engine (don't slam me for saying that). I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Now its sitting in a stand, needing freshening, have old Offenhauser valve covers and dual quad manifold for it.

funny stuff. at work I write the date several times a day. 3/27/17 had me thinking the same thing, starting a 327 thread. here's some 327 valve cover trivia... correct me if I am wrong. 1962 327's have unique valve covers like these:

    while later 327's have these:

see the difference? I used to sell a lot of valve covers on ebay, being in the S.F. Bay Area swap meets are abundant, while in Horsedick Idaho, not so much. I found that $10.00 valve covers at swap meets were worth $40.00 on up on ebay. must have sold 50 pairs. 62 Valve covers always brought a premium. 265 Valve covers were the best sellers though.

Of course you know how rare that dual snorkel air cleaner is right!
Even rarer yet is the correct base for Holley carb.
