Yes, the first Iron Invasion will be held October 5-6 2012 in Woodstock, IL
I would surmise it will be simular to Torque Fest. (which is a damn good thing!!)

John has organized 2 outstanding Traditional Hot Rod events. (can't use the word "show" when describing Torque Fest and the Iron Invasion, "show" just does not do it justice!)

His other event is Torque Fest. T.F. #3 was held this past May 4-5 in Iowa
(Torque Fest #4 is scheduled for May 3-4 2013 in Dubuque, IA)

If you have not attended Torque Fest, head to the Iron Invasion. I have a feeling we won't be disappointed.

yes - this is the first one....
please do not think of this as a first year show though.....
As with our first year of Torque Fest - we had 400 qualifying cars and another 100 non qualifying cars.

Based on our pre registrations for Iron Invasion we will break those numbers fer sure.

I suspect we will have 2nd year Torque Fest numbers.

2nd year Torque Fest we had 500 traditional rods and kustoms and another 150 non qualifying cars....

The thing that I am noticing is the fact that very few Chicago registrations are coming in.
I have talked to others about this and they feel this is due to the fact that in the past there was a little show called the Pile Up and they NEVER had pre registration.....
so people are just not used to pre registering for an event in October.

    We will see.
Even if you dont bring your hot rod - we will have all the vendors, bands, feature cars, and pin up contest.....
so those things alone warrant the drive to Woodstock.
I sincerely believe many that choose not to come to Iron Invasion because ïts just a first year show"will be very upset when they find out just how much fun everyone had at our event.

don't worry John, guys from the Upper Midwest just don't like to pre-register.

Remember my prediction...if the weather is nice, you will get .... cars.

    Thanks Malarky!
And Bobwop - your prediction may come true in a couple of years....
but lets get this one under our belt first - remember this show is
RAIN OR SHINE - come on out no matter what!
Leave your ride at home if you dont wanna see it in the water.......
but we have 5 buildings with stuff inside all of them.
AND we have the pavillion that has the bands and pin up contest.

Handed out a bunch of fliers at the Greenfield swap. Seemed to be a lot of interest including myself.

I didn't pre-register, but I did sign up to volunteer. Clearly, John has big shoes to fill with an October show. But we are really looking forward to taking part in the Iron Invasion! And, it will be the first time in many years that the Hot Rod Hucksters have played during the day at said October show, as we always played the Pre-Party. So that will be fun too!

I am trying my hardest to get my car done enough for me and a couple buddies to cruise to the show. It will be close if I can get it to that point. Exhaust, bumpers and grill, get the windshield cut and installed, and a bunch of other odds and ends.

As John has said, we will be having an open house at the shop (Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle) on Oct 5, 4-6pm, and then we will promptly be heading up as a group up to Woodstock for the Iron Invasion pre-party. Much like years past with the Pileup, I'm sure this is not something you'll want to miss!

  19. ...swapmeet will be in the southwest corner of the grounds up around the animal shelters.

Over 200 Pre registered mail packets were dropped off at the post office yesterday - be on the lookout!!!!
It is NOT too late to pre reg.
We are taking pre reg up to 9-25-12
If you pre reg you get in 30 minutes early
you get a way cool sticker
you get the dvd when it comes out - in the mail delievered to your mailbox
and you get one fancy shmancy wristband
    pre registering is $20

    or

you can just show up the day of the event and pay $10 - you will get entry wristband and you gotta wait in line
do NOT complain when you see us letting those guys in early - it happens every year at Torque Fest
we appreciate those that are committing early to the show and this is a way we can repay them....
    they get in early.

    Thanks for all the support.

This show is going to be a good time - seeya there.

do not be surprised if you hear a bit of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica (pre black album), or Dio at the Iron Invasion. Of course we will primarily be playing Nick Curran, Texas Troubadours, Link Wray, Hank III, etc.... but
the obvious metal references will be a part of the Iron Invasion. Check out the volunteer shirt that Shawn Dickinson did for us!!!!
Those not familiar with Iron Maiden will NOT get this...... those that do - hope you dig it.[IMG]

Hey Chad, we've got the usual suspects heading up on Friday to the Invasion. If everyone agrees and the timing works out, maybe we'll hit the open house on the way up.
