Make a long story short.....I decided to drive one of my Conquest tsi's from point A to point B with no inspection sticker or insurance at 12 midnight. I guess a cop was bored and seen my car wasn't legal and decided to pull me over and check things out. With this said & done, my car got impounded and it was the weekend when all this happened. I could not get my car out of the impound the next day due to the towing company's office hours were 8am to 6pm Mon thru Fri. I go back Monday morning to get my car out of jail and they handed me a $626.00 dollar bill. I'm pissed and I cuss and pay the damn ticket. I tell them to bring my car out front so I can load the car on a trailer. As they bring the car out to me, I notice the air dam is totally ripped off the car. These air dams cost $400.00 new, not to mention I have to paint it to match. I tell the tow company dispatch my shit is all tore up and somebody is going to pay for it. I see the guy that towed my car in just have a shit eating grin and walks away. The dispatch said they weren't responsible for any tow damages since the car did not have insurance on it. Let me tell ya something.....It took me a month to find out what vehicle the tow truck driver had for his own personal ride, but I got some justification out of this.

    wow... that sucks.

im kinda glad lapd out here in the valley has worst shit to worry about... ive been pulled over a couple of times... but every time i get pulled over some thing big goes down and they have to leave to an emergency.

i once got pulled over down my street... (bad neighborhood) they cops were questioning us..."where you going?" "are you in a gang?" "are any of you on probation?" whatever...

as they take my license and start checking my record, they get a dispatched to a shooting that was literally 3 blocks away from where we were...

they throw my license back in my window and take off...

    maybe its luck?

well for me at least.... iono about the guy that got shot.

Yeah, kinda like ham & eggs, eh? For the chicken, it's a sacrifice. For the pig, it's a lifetime commitment!

Tow Companies are completely opportunistic, and if they see something they like, they will try to keep it.

When the Police are contacting they are going to look for something to pop you for. That's their job. You have to be one-up on them. License, registration, insurance, and no warrants.

  8. i don't see why anyone's amazed by this shit, so such thing as a good cop, their all

the first part of this post, not the reader's digest part is absolutely bullsh*t. it is amazing that in our country, they allow our protecters or at least the people who are supposed to be our protectors do that.

Manyolcars said:The police stop cars with out of state license plates, then reach under the seat and pull out a bag of marijuana! (Yes, there was no marijuana in your car but they 'find' it.)Then they impound your car and since you are from out of state and cant afford to miss work and cant afford to hire lawyers a to fight it, the police keep your car.

What will happen if you don't give permission for the police to search your vehicle because you are afraid the police might "plant" something illegal in you car? I don't do drugs, but am afraid of this happening when driving around the country..

  17. Just remember there are crooked shop owners, machinists, mechanics, and fabricators in this country too. That dosen't mean ALL of them are crooked! Same way with police, we're not all crooked we just have to put up with the SMALL percentage of those that wear a badge that are. My work in Louisiana puts me in contact with out of state people on a daily basis so if any of you have fears or concerns please feel free to email me.

I'm not arguing to that fact that Louisiana has a huge amount of less that satisfactory law makers and politicians. Its an unfortunate thing that we have to live with.

Please don't judge all of us by the actions of a few of us.

I guess I have a better memory than you. How do you "forget" about an unpaid fine?

The most amazing thing to me is that this thread wasn't shut down back in 2009, much less allowed to be resurrected now! Violates all the "rules" of the HAMB!

Nope, still timely though. Sorry Hnstray, didn't mean to step on any toes. I'm sure the administration will deal with it post haste and I will note the date from now on. o_O
