Are you going to the Old Dragracers Reunion in Montgomery next weekend (9/25-27)? I'll be there with Ben and a few others from the Birmingham/Hueytown area.

    Here's the flyer: http://www.mmpdragracing.com/flyer-old-drag.html

Should be a good one. The field was already full and closed about a month ago.

    Hope to see you there!

Are you going to Hartselle Depot Days, tomorrow?

Getting everything ready to head that way. We will be staying at the track in a motor home. We will have a blue truf cart with a white top that is slanted and has a spoiler on the back. I has FORD emblems on it also. I'm old, fat, ugly and have a beard.

PM me for my cell #.

I do dig it, Joel. That car TJ was in has a distinct Sal Tovella look to it.

Nice to see another Mopar guy, MoParDealer. Might want to post an intro in the Intro section though, some people get cranky about that. Welcome to the HAMB.

Hank, I remember Roy very well, and he was a good friend. We were planning to have an old timers day at Corbin this weekend and he was coming along with the Kimmels, Elmer Davis, Gerald Dixon, and maybe Jack Lancaster. However, the race got cancelled. We are going to try to work out something for next year if we can get everybody together. I haven't run across any photos of Roy's cars yet, but I'm always looking.

B.A., thanks for the heads-up. I love that track. I wrote my "Driven to the Past" on Frontstretch.com for this Friday about a trip down there.

Thanks from me also. I have had some good times at Nashville. I loved their local racers with their cars that were like the Sportsman cars of the day, Novas, Lemans, T-birds, Fairmounts, Darts and such.

When you can see the likes of Butch Lindley, Jody Ridley, Mike Alexander and the rest of the drivers from the south lined up against Dick Trickle, Bob Senniker, Rusty Wallace and the rest of the Northern-Midwestern drivers in the 400 you know you have seen the best.

I read mention of Joe Carver down toward the bottom of the posts on the link you gave us. Is Joe still around? I still have his card from the days of the Cleberty Marketing Group days with DW. It was called Winston Cup Marketing Group until Winston or NASCAR made them change the name.

Here's some names from the past: Don Thies(racing photos), Bill Desmond(PR and Marketing), Bob Latford (PR Anheuser-Bush Inc. old racing promotions and writer and one of the originators of the previous NASCAR point systems), Gary Poindexter (The Voice of ASA and GM of "Stock Car Connection), Johnny Ward (GM Montgomery Speedway), Bruce Baker(R&B Engineering - racing engines), Whit Collins (Dir. of Racing Opperations - Purolator), John Quinn(Publisher "The Checkered Flag Racing News", Gerald Dorich (Racing Photos)...........These are a few of the old cards in an old card case I used back in the days I was involved regularly. Does anyone know what they are doing now??

Charlie Reichmuth and Ronnie Blankenbaker at Drome. I know the text says Ray Crane but Blankenbaker drove the 88 car also. I saw this wreck and I thought Ronnie was in the #88. I may be wrong it was a long time ago
