Can anyone identify this EXACT style of what looks to be a glass fuel filter? Sorry I can't give any help on what they original came off of, or if they are even fuel filters/strainers, but hopefully someone has seen them on something.

Exact, no but I have seen similar installations on RR locomotives. Those were fuel sight glasses. If one was full and the other empty all was well. If both were full the fuel filter was plugged. They were on GM 1700 horsepower diesels which were the same basic engine used in WW2 submarines.
I notice that they are directional.
