" What do ya reckon ? " No worries Steve. No trouble caused by your post. Just think of the HAMB as one big garage that a bunch of guys come to talk about cars and projects and discuss stuff. Here it the states we call it shoot the shit. Context or otherwise car wise or just a open thought on the Website as Ryan said "All good brother"
I will admit I thought the line button was a dumb idea and would just get annoying, but I noticed pretty quickly that threads were shorter, especially build threads. I'm glad guys hit like and don't add three pages worth of neat! to most threads.
No harm done in asking, glad you brought it up. Personally, I never came on the HAMB for fun or to socialize; I've got plenty of other outlets for that (as we all do)...it's all about the cars in my book. Let's talk about the cars
Of course the main focus of the HAMB should be about cars but if everything else is eliminated it's like reading a textbook...................that's about as exciting as watching Canadian Parliament on C-SPAN.
I absolutely agree, I'm not talking about socialising , I meant when somebody asks a question and then it sort of goes off that particular topic but still applicable, a good example would be a guy asked a question on one of my threads and the conversation moved away from what he asked and we got to talking about blowers and I ended up getting a really good deal on a 4/71 out of it. See what I mean ?
I agree with Muttley ( which is rare ) if everything was put tab A into slot B it would be too antiseptic in my opinion. We all came to the Hamb for the same reason, the cars, but along they way we have all developed friendships and mutual respect for others. Granted sometimes a thread gets off track ,just like every day conversation with your buddy's sitting around in the garage...Kind like this thread started off about the like button hurting conversation but then complain about minimal content in the reply. It's all good IMHO. HRP
Since I have not "liked" any posts in this thread, I thought I would add to the conversation, with this question. Why is the like icon a red love heart ? Just wondering ?
I found something I don't like about the like button. I posted some pics from a car show last week and got lots of "likes" but few comments to bump the thread back up to the top, so fewer people saw the thread.
Great point! Posting photos on the HAMB takes time, and a THANK YOU! posted on the tread sure is deserved. Bob
HOTRODPRIMER pointed out that no one "liked" your post..., well I've heard about Face Book, but don't really get the concept and I agree with a lot of what you said there. As for S & H GREEN STAMPS -that's how I got my first bike. Training wheels and all! -Dave
