A friend of mine who lives on Oahu, sent me these photos. They were taken 1962, he had just moved over as a kid to make his fortune in Hawaii. Today he has one of the worlds largest Antique Toy collections, is retired, and now lives his dream Hot Rodding .

    heh! Too cool.

Seems like those side cowl vents were a popular modification back in the day. I've seen those on a few model A bodies.

Sorry- had the wrong auctioneer's name- Mr. Ralston has an AWESOME antique toy collection- blows my mind that he ships cast iron toys over the pacific as much as he does!

Rick has become a good friend of mine, i bought my Track Roadster from him and had it shipped over to the mainland. Since then we have communicated weekly via email > He is a amazing guy, started with nothing but the ability to airbrush some T Shirts and ended up with many stores in the Islands{Crazy Shirts} He now is retired and hopefully when the A sedan is done we will meet up in California for a "cruise: along PCH. He has had some great cars along the way also, he favors the 4 bangers.

Is Rick Ralston still in the islands? I saw an exhibition of his toy collection here in Honolulu and it was truly amazing. Below is a link to more nostalgic photo's of Hawaii, checkum out. I look at those pictures and wonder if any of those old cars have survived time and rust. Aloha, Lucky444.

    Makes me homesick!

Way cool pictures. They were taken four years before I was born.

    Great pictures!

Good to hear he's doing well. Going to the Crazy Shirts store was always a highlight when we got to go to Ala Moana. The first couple of years it was a big thing to see what the latest design was. I think he used to make 'em all in Pearl City back in the day.

If you get a chance, those pics would be awesome in higher res.

    Aloha

Rick lives on Ohau, above The bay around Pearl, ive seen an ariel view of his property he sent me. You should see him cruising the A sedan Verns building for him shortly, it looks from the pics i posted its about done. He still has the toy collection and still sells quite a few.

It's good to hear he's enjoying himself. I know he worked hard for that one. Those shirts were a huge hit, we all had our stash of Crazy Shirts growing up! Hope to see him cruising that "A". Please tell him about that link that I posted, I'm sure he'll enjoy the photo's of old Hawaii.

Any idea what the woodie is?

The wheels/guards/headlights look late 20's early 30's, but the back part of the roofline flows down like a late 40's model.

    Cheers, Glen.
