I believe you are correct,those are 63-67 corvette tail light lenses. The bezels appear homemade.

 

From what I was told theyre 58 Chevy stationwagon taillights

You really don't have to change anything. Even those chrome
sink drain pipes are cool. And when you start looking at the goodies
like the Mallory Mag spark, the shocks, cool interior, fantastic
steering wheel etc etc, you've got to see you would have a real hard
time even finding that kind of stuff today. There's a saying "They are only
original once". I'm extending the line. " They are only original
Hot Rods once". My humble opinion is, you have a big chunk
of late 50's East Coast Hot Rod history. When they talk
about it you got it. You can't put a dollar
value on it 'cause you can't build it back to the way it is now even
with a ton of money. And you can't get any cooler!
And yes I agree 58 Chevy station wagon tail lites.
They were 1 year old in 59!

 

By the way I just noticed, some guys were already using, dare I say
it, billet in the 50's. Check out the fan extender. looks like it was spun
from a bar of aluminum. It might have been made in the original
builder's High School shop class.
I think it's way cool!

 

I'm pretty sure the cylinders and pedals are ansen units but does anybody know what the cylinders original type application might be. I want to rebuild these and need to know what year/type of vehicle to order kits for?

Lookn' good! I was wondering if the holes in the front backing plate might have been for cycle type fenders? The masters look like maybe'52 Ford to me? You don't see to many Almquist intakes in use. To cool! Have fun,haul ass...

What a great find ! Replace whatever rubber lines and wiring that needs to be gone,and drive it.
The original builder built it to drive and enjoy,why not you?

Does anybody know who makes good waterpumps?

 

I just noticed that vintage picture you posted with that cat wearing the Drifters jacket and saw the rear plate on the car. How cool is that?

 

This guy is all the rage as the primo water pump rebuilder on the Fordbarn. Skip at http://www.fordcollector.com/

Supposedly his improved impellers can cool even the roughest flatheads. Maybe he can do the job without ruining the paint on them now? Nobody will be the wiser.

I think Speedway and Mac sell the same one. Improved impellers for flow and ceramic seals for a long, leak free life.

 

The tail light lenses may be "Corvette". GM used the same ones on every Corvette from 1961-1967 and I wouldn't put it past them to use leftovers from that one year only 1958 design in the low volume Vette, but, the bezels are most definately NOT Corvette.

 

Not saying you should use them instead of rebuilding,
but I've had my Speedway pumps about 6 years and
probably 20,000+ miles with zero problems.
Also about 3 of those years without a fan!
Also, Ive got to pick my old brain and Rolodex,
I used to buy thousands of similar fasteners for
power supply boxes we used to manufacture.
One name that comes to mind is Southco Fastners.
I'm sure they are still in business and maybe they have
Those actual fastners.
I'll see what else if anything I can dig up.
Another thing:
There were plenty of plating houses in NJ in the 50's 60's.
That's probably why the car has a lot of chrome.
One I remember was T.A Farrel Plating.
He was actually in Garfield NJ!

 

Man that is killer, not to my taste at all but it's so well kept and that interior is mint!

Absolutely mind boggling! I can't even dream how some fools could own something so perfect for ten and forty years to not get some real joy out of it by driving and sharing with the world, just waiting for all that praise to roll in. But I'm sure you will improve upon this. Oh yeah, and still love the interior.

Congratulations. What a find. And being able to talk to the original owner/builder just makes it better.
That color looks a lot like Inverness Green that Cadillac used in the early to mid 50's.
