Really would like to see this thing restored to it's former self. Just spotted the auction notice the other day and somebody out there may have the means. Reserve, if there is one, could be around the $49-50,000 the owner had been trying to get for for the past few years though.

Built by Chuck's Speed Center of Phoenix For Gil Guggisburg (Guggy's Coffee Shop) and painted by George Cerney and Tom Kelley, has survived in almost original condition till now. I believe the aluminum firewall has been replaced with steel and the glass panels swapped for steel but easy to swap back if wanted.

It must be pretty rough if a professional photographer took shots of a black car in the dark.

It looks like a good portion of the original chassis pieces have been changed out at some time. Maybe as a later in it's racing life after the photo posted above or by a later owner trying to build a street rod out of it. Wish I had the money and garage to put it in though.

  4. That is absolutely the worst photography,it's like they are trying to hide something photographing the car in the dark. HRP

They are horrible pics. Use to be a whole album on the net somewhere showing the whole car inside and out. I think ro51_hemi on here had it for a while. Pretty sure the chassis is mainly intact other than a lot of chrome. Here's a later pic minus the slick paint. Was later solid metallic blue and although I've heard someone say it had a Hemi at some point I'm pretty sure it ran a Big Block Chevy from day one.

Hope so. Also hope the current owner lets it keep it's soul.

Here's some old phone pics of pics of the original build.

Very nice car, but it looks like a lot more "re-creation" than "restoration" to me. New metal, new motor, new paint=new car?
