Gas Tank Volume Formula?

I know it's H x W x L= ? Divided by What?(271?) Can't remember a damn thing unless I write it down anymore. I sure someone should be able to answer this for me. Thanks

Yes. HxWxL gives you total volume in inches (assuming you measured in inches and not lightyears, nautical miles or parsecs! ). Take your total vol. in inches and divide by 231. So say you came up with 2772 in. sq. Divided by 231=12 gal.
