Technical Fuel sending unit

    Thanks I do have a good ground hook to my grounding block from one of the rim mounting screws.

    I think I have it figured out. Took the tank out, there was 2 gallons in it. took the sending unit out and tested, it came up 245 ohm's empty and 33 ohms full, so looks like a AMC &SW sending unit.

    Maybe you had the ohm meter on the 200 ohm scale, it was reading a bit over 200 ohms, and the over range indicator was 000 and you didn't realize that's what the meter meant?

    Troubleshooting electric stuff remotely is difficult

    I set the meter on 200 and it would read the 33 ohms when sender lever was at full, but had to set the meter to 2000 for it to read 245 ohms when empty

    yup. But when you were testing the sender when it was still in the car....that's when you might have been confused by the meter reading. And I didn't think of the possibility that it was that sender.
