1928 Ford AR Phaeton mild street rod project for sale. I am offering this car for sale as a roller, but may consider selling the body and chassis separately. Body could easily be returned to stock since modifications made were primarily to the firewall, front subrail extensions and the rear seat riser and pan. Other minor modifications are: holes for side curtain retainers were welded shut and D-nuts were added to the rear body subrail to add a tail lamp bracket to the passenger side. Either of these could easily be reversed. The body is an AR body with oval hole in driver’s side subrail for hand brake. This car did not have the left-hand brake lever, and the hole was neatly capped at the factory with a sheet-metal cover that was screwed in place. The gas tank has been boiled out and is in good condition without any modifications. Very solid western car that needed very little rust repair. The only reproduction sheet metal in the body is the pan under the front seat and the toe kick panel below the front seat back. Sandblasted and body work done by a professional restorer. It is in grey epoxy primer with guide coat ready for final blocking before painting. I have a new wood kit partially installed. New door latches installed in all doors. New seat springs for the front seat and the original bottom cushion for the back seat. Restored dash rail and original windshield stanchions are included, but I do not have a windshield frame. These unrestored original parts are included: Complete top irons & bows, (3) Rear fenders, Rear bumper brackets, Rear bumpers. Pete & Jakes chassis is set up for SBC and Turbo 350. Narrowed ’57 Ford rear with new 3.00 gear set, and new drum brake components. The rear is hung on Aldan coil-overs and P & J ladder bars. The front end has a new dropped I-beam, P & J 4-bar, and Posies spring. Includes spindles, drag link and tie rod with all new ends. Also included with the chassis are: complete front disc brake kit with new calipers, SS flex hoses, new dual chamber master cylinder, proportioning valve, residual check valves, etc. Basically, the only brake components I do not have are the hard lines themselves. I am asking $12,750 for the entire package, or may consider separating the body and chassis. I have a clear NC title in my name that will go with the body if I break up the package. The car is located about 1 hour north of Charlotte Motor Speedway – just outside of Greensboro, NC. Please send a PM if you have any questions. Thanks, Todd
A few other items going with the car that I forgot to mention in my original ad: - New repro top saddles and the rods that they mount to - Original spare tire mount (unrestored) - Original forged tail lamp arm - Rear bumper brackets and bumpers (unrestored) For anyone that may be interested in the body for the purpose of returning it to original, I have a very nice (unrestored) early 1928 cowl, lower firewall and subrail extensions that we could swap out for the modified cowl. Thanks, Todd
