For those of you that don't know my "kind"of art, here's some samples. Most of these are done the old fashioned hard way with pen and ink...on paper...most of these are actual cars...

Did this logo for my friend Dave Pareso in ColoRODo Springs-his body shop.

Did this one for my friend "Wooley"

Did this one as a joke for my friend Mike...look closely at it...

Piece of concept art for a street rod shop here in Denver...this car got built out of a 2004 T-Bird...using '57 T-Bird parts...this one was done with markers...

PS, I do single color to six color art for silkscreening...do a lot of it in the western US...

All of these images are copyrighted...

I can appreciate your techniques, 40 StudeDude. Pencils, brushes, markers and pastel chalk are mine. I don't know the first thing about computer-generated art, but appreciate it to the fullest. Your work is top notch, by the way!

Lose the green tire, and replace the sporty tank and that thing would be near perfect.

I use Prismacolor markers almost exclusively, but at times, if there's a cool color I find that Prismacolor doesn't make, I'll buy it and add it to my arsenal.

I too wanted to thank everyone that stopped by and not only visited my booth, but all the artist's booths in Artist's Alley at Detroit Autorama. I met a lot of great people, saw lots of old friends, and got to hang out with some mega talented artists. I had a BLAST!!! I hope to see the Artist's Alley Tradition continue and everyone's suport makes it possible.

Great show again! I don't have anything I can show this week, but I am posting these as a satisfied customer of TOMMY'S CYCLE! This is seriously cool!

Yes, I have big hands. This is a piston from a big block Chevy......or a Vespa, I can't remember what he said.

It sits in a place of honor creepily looking at me from my shelf. Check out my blog this weekend as I'm adding more content and another (weekly;)) artist tip.

This is my unrelated sorta to vintage hot rods post. Doing a pinup distressed sample deck for a small run of decks. Each are hand painted and a mixture of silkscreening. The boards done in vintage Boeing B29 fasteners(not rivits) and each decks Olive Drab is exact matched and mixed much like the original paint including the Toluene thinner and cadmium pigments. The goal was to make a paint chip that isn't actually chipped into the lower layer of polished aluminum paint. The board was drilled for the fasteners first, then 6 coats of wet sanded aluminum fine reset paint then distressed, silkscreened and hand painted.

The deck comes with a poster as well.

    Detail of the deck.

Board before silkscreening seeing how the fasteners look.
