The two Modified Roadsters image would appear to be Steve Melise from NY on the near side. Dodge wedge engine, later had one of the first 8.71 blowers. Regards, Chase

I ALWAYS DO AND ABOUT 13 MEG LEFT ON MY MEMORY CARD

  18. Yeah, I shuda mentioned the memory card, too. Last year, at my own club's show, Jalopyrama, I made sure to have additional batteries with me. I took about three pix from among 300 cars and then saw in the viewfinder, "CARD FULL." I didn't have a spare one of them with me, but I had those spare batteries!:(

After seeing the story about Pink working for Lou Baney, was wondering when Lou had his speed shop and where in down town L.A. was it located ?

Don, good question, this is all I could find, article from Car & Driver:

"He could have had a job in his dad's paint business. He could have worked for his uncle Paul at the landmark Pink's Hot Dogs stand at La Brea and Melrose. But he didn't. He took an apprentice job sweeping up for legendary drag racer and dry-lakes veteran Lou Baney at his shop, Hot Rod Heaven, in southwest L.A"

    and a couple of pictures:

I don't know if this is a gas station that Lou might have operated, or a former gas station that he converted to a speed shop....(not drag racing, I know, but in response to a drag racing question)

I also noticed what appear to be spark plugs in each of the carb housings. Am I missing something here? After I posted I realized it is a Horning head.

Whoa! I've made it completely through the thread. It took me a little over a year.
