Yep, a very young teenage Al Teague in the seat. Saw Al, make a run in that roadster at Fontana. Standing behind the starting line we could read the numbers on the side 4 times before he got to the clocks on the top end, and never lift.

 

John, it was originally but they relocated it to the top end and painted it white in later years.

It's the Socal Plymouth Dealers Hemi Cuda, driven by Mongoose Tom McEwen. It went airborne at LIONS, was resold to Fred Geoske.Several early funny cars took off, the combination of jacked up suspensions and 175 mph plus speeds.

 

Not a fuel car but blown none the less.

The thing I REALLY liked about Dusty Rhodes' car was its rear wheels. I'd be very happy if I could find a set of Rebels like these.

 

This picture is so cool on so many levels.

 

My Grandparents lived across the street from Bob Longpre Pontiac in Westminster when I was a kid.
