So between the rebuild of my wrecked 31 A Tudor (I've dubbed Resurrection) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275101&showall=1

And the build of my 30 A Tudor with Titus (Survivor) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=371150&showall=1

I've been left without a running hot rod of my own for going on 2 years. Doug (FalconMan) was gracious enough to loan me his 28 A RPU most of last summer. I put on a ton of miles and had an absolute blast with the little roadster.

The problem is, FalconMan ruined me for life! I discovered I'm a roadster kind of guy. I haven't been able to shake it . . . and well . . . I need some topless fun! I've been searching various sources for a roadster that I could afford and would still be able to make it my own with finishing touches. I found the perfect car right here on the HAMB!

Tony (TRosa54) posted his 30 A Roadster for sale here back at the end of last summer and reposted it again around the 1st of the year. We've been talking for a couple months and I knew I had to make the car mine. Since the deal was struck last week and made official with a cashier's check yesterday, I think it's now safe to share my excitement! :)

Just a few of the 70+ pics Tony sent me:

The rest of the pics -- including build pics that Tony sent me can be found here: http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k80/MNBullyBoy/Model A Roadster/?start=all

The rundown on the car is as follows:
    74 350 Chevy
Quadrajet 4 barrel on a 68 vintage manifold
    Lakes headers with baffles
    T5 tranny from an S-10
    Ford 9"
40 Ford juice brakes all around
    36 Ford Wide 5 wheels
    New Firestone 7.50/16 and 4.25/16
    Superbell dropped and drilled axle
40 Ford split and drilled wishbones
    GM steering box
40 Ford steering column and wheel
4 bar rear with coilovers and panhard bar
X-member in frame - VERY stout
    Boxed Model A frame rails
Stock Model A Cowl Gas Tank
    Cloth covered wiring
    Guide headlights
Super straight nice body - The only rust was on the rear and it was very mild
Body is in red oxide high build primer
Frame is painted in black urethane with a flattener added to the finish
New top with 36 roadster rear window
    Re-upholstered stock seat

    My plans thus far are:
Get the car transported to MN from CA!
    Add front shocks.
    Re-pop 32 shell and insert.
Flat paint - wife wants flat, so flat it is!
Paint the wheels, headlights and 32 grille insert gloss black.
Finish interior panels to match the seat.
    Rubber mat on the floor.
    Possibly change the taillights.

Drive the wheels off the car!

Great lookin' little roadster, the one change I'd make though, is narrowing that diff, the rear wheels look to be sticking out too far, unless it's an optical illusion. But, again very cool, probably quite literally in Mn this time of year. Have fun!

Sweet car, and I get to hear him rev the crap out it everyday and do burnouts throughout the neighborhood.

    Glad I live a block away. :)

Is it sad that I think it almost looks better without the body on it? Nice chassis.

Still working on an enclosed transporter. I do have someone lined up for the first week of April if I can't find anyone that can do it sooner.

Anyone got suggestions for a paint color? I'm leaning towards Hot Rod Flats Midnight Blue or Deep Maroon.

    HRF Midnight Blue:

You know, C9 would always post these wonderful stories about cruising in his roadster, and I always lusted after one. He was totally right. After I got mine on the road I was hooked.

I've only racked up a hundred miles or so, but it has been "winter" here in California. I'm looking to put some miles on it this summer, I just want to drive all over the place and just enjoy it, make some stories of my own.

Thanks for the comments. The car should be tons of fun. Any ideas on paint color for the body and wheels for me?

The transporter should be picking up the roadster from trosa54 in CA the first week of April. The plan is to go pick up my GMC BUBBA built teardrop from MercDeuceMan in IN the second weekend in April.

And yes, I plan to have them both at GoodGuy's in Des Moines. Hopefully the roadster will be painted and have a completed interior by then too. :)
